Usually forced retirements don't get 3-9 months to remain on the job.

He's essentially packing his bags two months after announcing his retirement in the middle of a school year, right for Christmas Break.

And likely 6 months of Facetiming the new AD with any help he might need.

You sure fell in love with a guy fast who's only big contribution so far is cutting athletic programs.

The guy has a vision for UND.  The cuts had to happen to implement the rest of the vision.  I know women’s hockey was tough call but there are so few people that really care.  That will severely offend a few people, but that is the truth.  All of that money will be used to support MBB and FB and to a lesser extent WBB and VB in the future.

UND needs a football locker room /weight room/ meeting room complex on the east side of memorial.  Big missing link to be a dominant fcs team.

To go along with the building the retiring AD built! ...and its not really any sort of missing link.

Most programs don't even have an IPF....let alone the most dominate one ever in FCS football!

Faison didn’t build !@#$. That money was in place when Lennon was coach and a lot of people pulled out when Mussman was hired.

So the money was in place two athletic directors ago but didn't get built til Faison came alone.

Thanks for the info.

On top of that, he's 67 and there have been health issues his family has dealt with. Timing with conference issues finally being settled and nickname issue put to bed, actually seems like a natural break point to give a new AD a clean slate.

Exactly. Outgoing ADs don't remain on the job for 3 more months, then another six as a consultant if there's friction or a forced retirement.

Don't know the man, so can't comment on how personable he is or isn't but objectively he can claim an impressive list of accomplishments at UND, from successful transition to D1 to league affiliations and athletes' performance on the field and the classroom.  Would like to see more on the fund-raising front, but hard to understand sometimes the animosity toward Faison. Some on this board not happy with anyone at UND since Clifford retired some 30-odd years ago.

That's not what they said at the press conference.  They said fundraising under Faison was the highest in UND's existence.

That occurred in spite of Faison, not because of him. So much untapped potential out there, you have no idea.
