2016 Stanley Cup Playoffs

How is there not already a general playoffs thread?

Anyway, tonight's win marks the first time in franchise history the Caps have taken a 3-0 series lead in a best of 7. Somewhat shocking given they've had 2-0 leads 7 times, and hopefully a sign that they've shaken off the demons.

Flyers (and fans) completely lost their composure in the 3rd, allowing the Caps to run up the score. Makes you wonder if the coach knows how to coach in the playoffs ;)

Fire Hak?

Let's just say it's been fun cheering for a team that's up against a Hak playoff team.

In all seriousness, no team is more likely to blow so dominating a 3-0 lead than the Caps. So, Philly fans shouldn't worry until it's over.

Somehow, I don't think that will be a problem this time. The Capitals are dialed in this year.

Caps won the President's Trophy what seems like months ago, so we shouldn't exactly be surprised they're taking the last wild card out behind the woodshed.  The Wild were able to get one at home, so their series with the Stars will at least go 5 - doubt Phili will get one, so expecting the Caps to finish the sweep.

He can't use the "one and done" excuse this time, either. :p

The guy should win NHL coach of the year for getting the Flyers to the playoffs.  This year's team isn't exactly the 1970's Islanders reincarnated.

Caldwell Jones...............no relation to Bobby Jones.

The Boston Strangler - greatest NBA nickname ever.  And I don't care what anyone says, the '83 Sixers team would whoop any of those Bulls teams from the 1990's.

Hell. How did I forget Marc Iavaroni and Earl "the swirl" Cureton? I still can't believe they didn't finish in fo, fo, and fo like Moses had predicted.

Dave Zinkoff doing the P.A. was the best ever! "At 1 forward, out of the University of North Carolina ,#24  Bobby Jones and at center from Albany State, #11, Caldwell Jones...................................................................................no relation"

Different game back then. The 82-83 76ers attempted 109 3 pointers for the season.

Toney was lights out for about 2-3 years...then he blew his knee out?  Some sort of leg injury, he was never the same after that.

Edit....heres the rest of the story...
