The ones who win championships?

Who knows, they might still hate their offensive coordinator too…  it’s a position that’s easy to think you know better than.

Bison fans hated Polasek as OC if I remember correctly.

Didn't a lot of them complain about Rhoel too?

My reply was also going to be....thr only team that doesn't hate their OC is the one who wins the Championship.  I do remember NDSU complaining about theirs at different times in the past few years and they won titles with those OC's, and they were still complaining.

If you can run the ball down their throats too, that sure makes life easier as the OC. I remember an SU playoff game with the game on the line and they were either 3rd or 4th and goal from the 5 with less than a minute to play, QB in shotgun.....and I think half the stadium new they were going to run the QB draw....and they did.....and of course he runs it in for a TD and won the game.

Danny called a couple too many trick plays for my liking.. but he was more entertaining and consistent than fruechte and my guess a better QB developer.

As I recall.. the major complaints were that Tommy didn’t run as much as he should and didn’t have a great deep ball.  Now we have a QB that runs too much and is inaccurate.

danny was handicapped by having to out score a consistently terrible defense.  It would be interesting to see if a combination of Schmittys defense and Danny’s offense would work..  always fun to dream.

Those trick plays were alot about us not having great skill guys. I blame him more for poor recruiting than for calling trick plays. No excuse for how our wr room has looked for over a decade.

Wonder if he was expecting P4 attention…

Not that impressive of a list, considering whatever $ he makes will be insignificant in the long run based on what I believe UND offers in terms of pro development, NIL and education …

I suppose you could argue JMU is a fine football program based on making the College Football Playoff this season …

At the very least I can tell you he will play significantly less snaps. Like not even in the same ballpark on how he was used this year.

It is why the grass is not always greener on the other side. These kids are getting bad advice and going for a few bucks but sacrificing their future in football.

No chance at all-American status, no chance at all-conference, no chance at professional football. Sticking with UND football and getting opportunities and development is usually the better option. Happy to see that Lance Rucker understood this …

If he weighed 190 he’d get P4 offers. IMO staying one more year and building up his body would make him more money in the portal and get him a better look at the pros. Hope he succeeds but I don’t think he set himself up properly here.

Yeah he screwed up, but in this day and age, one or two kids will unfortunately do this to themselves every year until regulations are put into place.

Would always welcome SS back to UND if his mind cleared but I’m sure that ship has sailed …

Very surprised not to see at least a walk on offer at U of Minn.  Should have stayed at UND one more year, but .........kids gotta dream I guess.
