SWSiouxMN
Just think if this happens in the Sweet 16. Cuse gets by the Zags, UNC beats Indiana, Irish get by Wisco and UVA beats ISU. The 4 of the Elite 8, 2 of the Final 4, and 1 spot of the championship game would be occupied by the ACC.
TrueSioux2000
If Syracuse loses to Gonzaga, I blame you for jinxing it SWSiouxMN. JK Syracuse will lose to the Zags. So if you're a betting person, go for the Zags. Syracuse can't compete with a competent team like them. Big players who can play defense AND penetrate our 2-3 zone!? Forget it, my boys in Orange are donezo!!!! Great season tho
TrueSioux2000
Ok so I was waaaaaaaaaay off on my prediction. What a year for me. Syracuse AND Sioux make it to the Final/Frozen Four. Life is good.
SiouxVolley
Didn't notice until now that Augustana won the DII dance for the first time, if anyone cares. Always admired Augustana in NCC days.

USF doesn't have the endowment to go DI. Angie flirted with the idea when USD went, but likely couldn't get a bid. When the Dakota schools head for the Big Sky and FBS, Augie, Mankato, and Mary could replace them but would have to go non-scholarship football. The Summit has a relationship with Sioux Falls now, as Sioux Falls thinks it's a big time basketball city now after they hosted a regional on the women's side. jdub27
UC-Irvine blew a late lead to lose in the CIT Championship game to Columbia.

Obviously they were a pretty decent team, but its too bad we couldn't have closed the door on them in regulation. Doesn't mean we would have made it to the championship, but we certainly had the potential for a nice run. Too bad McDermott is leaving, but we will still be a solid team next year. Hooker should have an unreal year and we get to add Baker into the mix.
TrueSioux2000
#ProudAsHeck for my Orange boys. Absolutely Proud. As. Heck. But they didn't win it all so season is meaningless.

SiouxVolley
So SDSU's Nagy got the Wright State job for $450 k and the whole SDSU board is crying. Amazing what a NCAA dance will do for coaches pay. Maybe SDSU will offer Jones $200k. Suspect Walthall will be offered by SDSU now.

Ryan Miller, a Mitchell native and bro of Mike "Skinny" Miller, could be the early favorite for the job.
UND-1
#butrpi That is a blow to the Summit as they have tried to convince anybody who would listen they are better than leagues like the Horizon, albeit, based only on the stupid RPI ratings that many pundits rip apart. The really funny part is Tom Billeter from Augie interviewed at UW-Milwaukee, who is also in the Horizon. So in the Horizon world Nagy is equal to Billeter, D2 to Summit. Is that why you pay your head coach less than half of what the lower paid Summit teams pay theirs? Or less than a quarter of what ORU and Denver pay their Summit league HC's? He is getting $500K over 5 years to go back to the area he was raised, to a school willing to throw a lot of money at Nagy and their BB program in the hopes of building themselves into another Butler. Nagy is 49 and will be turning 50 soon. He has been at SDSU for 21 years. He either moves now or never, especially if he ever wants a major conference job (see Illinois). Jones? Funny. Walthall? Funny. Neither will sniff the job. Oh, and that is 3 NCAA dances SDSU (just like NDSU) have been to. SDSU have what some are deeming a top 25 NCAA player on the roster for the next 3 years http://abcnews.go.com/Sports/stars-college-basketball-2016-2017/story?id=38153309. I'm pretty sure whoever we bring in SDSU's Men will be just fine. And maybe you should read better. I don't see a lot of crying going on over at the SDSU board. Some shock to start but I see more excitement and anticipation than anything else. But, you are the master at taking one post from a message board and turning it into your own facts. Oh, for good measure, Since you are such a Summit hater. USD won the Women's WNIT this year and SDSU were seconds away (for the 2nd time in school history) from making the Women's Sweet 16. Next season SDSU's Women will likely start the season ranked in the Top 25 and will still be a year away from what many think will be the best team in SDSU Women's history. Better than the 2009 version that was ranked 15th in the country. Things are going pretty well for the 3 other "Dakota" schools in what you deem the Slummit. How are things in the Big Sky? Still planning on going FBS? Funny stuff.
