ericpnelson Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 Brad Berry was happy to quickly say what his favorite nickname is, but the others are oddly quiet...Hey man, we're on the same team, but that's those coach's pergorative. they are all on twitter and regularly do interviews;they aren't denied the opportunity. 2 Quote
Popular Post nodakhoops Posted October 30, 2015 Popular Post Posted October 30, 2015 Roughriders.https://twitter.com/genocrandallGreat mind that Crandall kid. Where's Schlossmangf pounding the drum about what student athletes want for a name. Roll Riders! 7 Quote
Fedorov Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 dont vote for what you like...vote for what's best for und and you will be fine...but vote!I don't think any of those choices are what is best for UND. I think just being North Dakota would be better than forcing an undesired nickname. As a result, UND will lose a lot of alumni donations and that doesn't help UND either. So who is really being helped here? 2 Quote
obborg Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 I don't think any of those choices are what is best for UND.I think every one of us on every side of this debate knows deep down this is true. 2 Quote

tnt Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 My favorite part is, "Experts say"...I hate the term experts as much as the next guy, but he did foretell us most likely moving toward that type of nickname. Quote
OgioloD Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 So I guess that will hopefully change the minds of the 12 students that actually read the dakota student. 1 1 Quote

Hayduke Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 Interesting ad in the dakota student today. Interesting. Implying that Kelley wants the "Hawk" name...hmmm.. I wonder how many students will change their vote based on this? Hard to say... Maybe it will make a social media splash? Quote
The Sicatoka Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 (edited) I also enjoyed the contradiction that Hawks is too popular yet at the same time state mottos are a good idea because they are so popular. Not every state is called "the hawk state". Going with the state nickname shows the unique character of the state. Edited October 30, 2015 by The Sicatoka Quote

In fact there might not have been a volunteer unit period, and certainly not one involving TR. Quote

Even though Roughriders wouldn't have to have a Teddy symbol, who wouldn't want to be associated with him?Get's shot in the chest before a 90 minute speech in Milwaukee, shrugs it off and gives the speech anyway:http://www.history.com/news/shot-in-the-chest-100-years-ago-teddy-roosevelt-kept-on-talking 2 Quote
