This program is really not that far away from being a national contender. Just win those non-conference games and they'll be there.

The thing they are missing is the elite players they had a few years back.  Put those players with the defense and goaltending they have now and you would have a Championship contender.  Was hoping they could get Jincy Dunne or Amy Potomak, but no deal.

They are missing a decent coach. 9th Season for Idalski and he doesn't even have a winning record against Bemidji States current head coach (.500)

You'd think in nine years you'd have some better talent and coaching than a second year coach recruiting against Bemidji State.

Bemidji St. also went further in the playoffs than UND last year. (WCHA)

I understand in women's hockey you are recruiting more to the school than the facilities because education is a foremost consideration, but shouldn't both of those factors put us ahead of Bemidji?  Regardless, it is hard to watch that kind of hockey.  You would think there would be more offense without checking.  Don't seem to have capitalized on the Lamoureux era.

Gotta share - because of where we live I was able to take my daughter to the UND/SCSU hockey game on Saturday (she was willing and eager but also asked if she could bring a book :). She instantly noticed there were more Sioux fans than Husky fans in the small crowd. So at her first college hockey game she witnessed:

1. a natural hat trick (unfortunately it was a SCSU player)

2. The UND goalie being pulled with 7 minutes left in the game.

3. 3 missed shots on an empty net by SCSU

4. UND scoring 3 times in the last 7 minutes to tie the score, the last goal coming with 11 seconds left.

5. UND fans taking over another road arena (okay it was small in scale but it happened).

6. Overtime

7. A shoot-out

Unfortunately UND lost the shootout but I pointed out that she witnessed at least 4 aspects of hockey that are extremely rare.

Oh and she never opened that book.

Scanlan is a gob and knows hot to coach hockey

idalski gets in fights at beer league hockey.

Nobody wants him on their team either from what I hear up there.

The ladies scored goals 20 seconds apart to take the lead in the 2nd. Unfortunately Duluth returned the favor in the final minutes of the period.

Tied 2-2 in the second intermission.

Duluth is having a pretty rough season so far after all of the drama that took place with their program.

That wasn't a loss... that was a butt-kicking.

Idalski has to be on a short leash. Can't get it done with the Lammy twins there is a problem.
