OC's look really good when they have better players.

No. He literally had about 5 beautiful play calls that completely exposed Wofford. Had nothing to do with talent.

Same OC from Montana St last year.  Didn’t blow the doors down there

Wofford is pathetic.

They are a ND Class 1A offense at the FCS level. Zero yards pass at the half! Pathetic is spot on.

Exactly the type of aggressive play calling you need to have to give yourself a chance to beat a top ranked FCS or a FBS school. Suppose our coaching staff is watching??

I hope so but they seem incapable of learning anything.   Remember this was their 4th year.

Candidate for most ignorant post of the year.

" ... nothing to do wth talent."

Wow.

I hope I wasn't the only UND fan cheering for JMU. They are the ONLY thing potentially stopping the Plundering Turd from winning it all again.

Hard to win with 5 turnovers. Don't expect the same in Frisco (if both teams are there, of course).

so your saying sdac got lucky...or did easton the mouthbreather show his true colors when playing from behind?

It looks like he said NDSU turned the ball over five times and that is atypical.  Believe it or not, most teams lose from time to time, in some cases, about half the time(see: UND in FCS).

Stuff happens. NDSU was only undefeated during the regular season once in its run of championships. NDSU will be favored if they play in Texas.

Wow.

Do you even know which plays I'm talking about? They're the type of plays we were asking for all year.

As they should be. I would expect Stig to outcoach himself if they meet down there.

Have to admit. NDSU just looks physical, fast and prepared. I hope we can some day play like that in the playoffs. Its going to take a huge shift. NDSU has success and $$$. Questions is which comes first at UND?

is it time to move away from fcs auto bids from conferences and just pick the top 16?  fcs playoffs football is comical

Not possible to do in an NCAA sponsored playoff.

We sure struggled to beat them even though they had a !@#$ qb.

So is it talent or not?

We barely beat them because our offense scored 17.

You honestly cannot think talent has "nothing" to do with it. I was just catching you on your exaggeration.

NDSU's OC Messingham has done a nice job, but he was not breaking records or earning raises when coordinating offense at Montana State, Indiana, or Iowa State.

Talent differential is always a huge factor; NDSU has superior talent right now. Never dismiss the actual players on the field.

With his play calls being great? Yes. A coach can overcome talent with great play calling. He can also accentuate talent with play calling. Those plays I'm talking about would've been successful with anyone running them.

Other than their qb they had nice talent on offense. It seemed like they were trying to run the 2014 UND offense though. Just trying to keep games close to avoid blowouts.

Only to a point; there's always a threshold.

NDSU physically handled Wofford today - wouldn't have mattered if NDSU had Paul Rudolph or Chris Mussman calling the plays.
