sioux rube Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 This, Willingham was absolutely awful in the outfield he could barely move anything was an improvement. I don't really care what the advanced stats/metrics say about Hunter or the rest of the outfielders defense just watching from last year to this year it is definitely improved. It isn't a great defensive outfield by any means but definitely an improvement from last year to this year. I'm not a big fan of how much they use Escobar though especially in the DH spot hopefully that changes when Arcia comes back but knowing how Terry Ryan often operates he will probably send Rosario back down instead of rotating Rosario, Arcia, and Hunter through the LF,RF, and DH spots the other option would be to call Vargas back up and just let him DH everyday then it would make at least a little more sense for Rosario to go back down. There will definitely be some tough roster decisions coming up for the Twins throughout the Summer with some of the prospects hopefully pushing for MLB time and could be a bit of a logjam at some positions. Thank you. Throw the stats out the window. The outfield has gone from down right putrid to average. Nobody is saying Hunter is a Gold Glover. What he is is an improvement from Arcia and Willingham. No brainer. Quote
SWSiouxMN Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 Twins sweep the Red Sox and now are tied for 1st in the Central.... let that sink in Quote

The thing the Twins bring to the table is that old fashioned twins baseball we all grew to love. They are FUN to watch again! Quote

sioux rube Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 Twins in first place all alone. Team just finds ways to win. Quote

sioux rube Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Twins take the last 2 games in Boston to split the series and take the season series 5 games to 2. Mauer a robust 1-13 and is now down to .263. Ish. Quote

Was an ugly game, but a win. Make quick work of the Brew Crew this weekend and get ready for a big series at home vs KC early next week. Quote

The fact that they are doing so well with Mauer playing like garbage, Santana suspended and their top prospects still to be called up makes it even more ridiculous. Fun ride so far, that's for sure! I've seen better defense (from both teams) in co-rec slow-pitch softball than I did in yesterday's Red Sox/Twins game. Terrible! Quote

sioux rube Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Stauffer throwing up meatballs again today. DFA he and Duensing now. Santana needs to be sent down to AAA to get his crap together. Is the June swoon here? Losing 2 to the lowly Brewers at home could kick start it. Quote

Everyone in the Central is swooning right now, but there are some alarm bells that need to be sounding right about now. Quote
SWSiouxMN Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 Looks like Santana will be send down to Triple-A and Vargas is back up. Now get rid of Stauffer and promote Meyer to take his place in the bullpen (Meyer had pitched better since he was send to the pen in Rochester). Quote
