Siouxperman8 Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Not much team basketball. Lots of individuals out there. Where is Dave Gunther when you need him? Quote
sioux2013 Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 REBOUND! Lets see, we have 3 point guards all 6' and under playing all but 3 minutes and our 4 and 5 men dont know how to box out. That's why we can't rebound. Don't start all 3 point guards and rotate them in and out. They are worn out by the 10 minute mark of the 2nd half every game. Quote
SWSiouxMN Posted December 23, 2014 Author Posted December 23, 2014 Id run the WAR drill in practice and punished the D who didnt box out and make them run lines. They would learn quick. Quote

If Gunther was coaching, we would have to forfeit because the players we have don't know how to play team defense and Gunther wouldn't want to put them out there! 1 Quote
jdub27 Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Guys have been pulled for bad shot selection. Time to start doing the same for rebounding. 1 Quote

But if they had proper form in their box out it would help. Start Coleman or hell start houbaugh at the 3. This 3 guard lineup experiment needs to end Quote
bincitysioux Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Solid 2nd half adjustments by the opponent once again.......... Quote
bincitysioux Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 We we're out rebounded 46-28 and they had 17 offensive rebounds. And it is not like this was Minnesota that physically overmatched us in a big way. They have a couple talented bigs but we have a couple capable bigs as well as some athletic small forwards. This is what is so frustrating about this program. A game like this one proves that there is talent on the roster, and yet we can chalk up another loss to lazy rebounding and poor free throw shooting. I am pretty sure that this team will continue to get better, but tonight was another missed opportunity. Quote
SWSiouxMN Posted December 23, 2014 Author Posted December 23, 2014 Cut those o-boards in half and we win. Simple as that Quote
ArtVandalay Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Pretty nice effort tonight. In it most of the game against big east school on the road. Team competed. Picked up a hundred grand to boot. Bills to pay. Quote

Siouxphan27 Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 When you're 6 feet tall you may not get the rebound, but you can help your bigs out by boxing out hard and making sure your man doesn't get the rebound either. But none of our guys box out consistently, and some never box out. It's the same thing year after year... Quote
UND-FB-FAN Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Expected that second half collapse. Look at Jones' overall DI record over the past few seasons? Not good... His conference success has fooled a lot of people. In reality, the top schools of the conference, namely Weber State, have still always topped Jones and UND. Quote

I think they are the only Big Sky team we haven't beaten yet. Kind of important to be able to beat Weber if you want to vet into the Tourney.......... Quote
SWSiouxMN Posted December 23, 2014 Author Posted December 23, 2014 Hooker Tyler Coleman Nash Shanks Simple lineup for start of conference play. The 3 guard lineup needs to end. Quote

Cratter Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Anyone know when the last time UND has come back to win a game, say down six after half time? Seems like once UND faces the smallest adversity they never are able to overcome. Quote
nodak651 Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Marquette fan forum is Even ripping jones... Anyway, how did shanks look? Replay on now btw Quote
hoopster Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 UND gets cover. Shanks first college game ever, and 1st game since his high school career ended 21 months ago. Calc did not play, Cashman played 3 minutes. Quote

Kind of important to be able to beat Weber if you want to vet into the Tourney.......... UND might be waiting awhile for that signature win. Weber State hasn't beaten a ranked opponent in 14 years. In fact Weber State just helped set an NCAA Division 1 record. Against ranked Oklahoma the largest run every- 39 consecutive points for Oklahoma. It was 49 to 4 at one point. Quote
