SIOUXFAN97
Any prior coaching experience? no coaching experience but he played four years at wyoming and was one of their best players...he is a beast and wouldn't mess around with guys that don't wanna play
geaux_sioux
Mason Kramer, from Bishop Ryan. Kolten Larson from MHS, both guys seem like they would be walk on potential. I saw where the Kramer kid took 2nd in State at heavy weight in wrestling. It was his 1st year ever of wrestling. Might make a good NG in the 3-4? Hell yea, I love having wrestlers in the front 7. Csonked Out
Hell yea, I love having wrestlers in the front 7. As do I...usually means the hands and feet are quick. Something that doesn't apply to many of our linemen currently.

And understanding leverage is key in addition to the feet and hands.
Sioux Nation
Above all else this is what I am looking forward to seeing. The drops the wide receivers had the last couple years drove me up the wall and were usually drive killers. I am willing to give away some explosiveness for a couple receivers who can consistently catch the ball. I couldn't agree more! My understanding is that Schluesner had a serious love affair with Jackson, Galladay, and Townsend. Harden has always had his share of drops but he does have the most big play potential. Jackson not only had drops, but some very untimely drops. Galladay, who was known as the guy who catches everything had a tough year as well. The problem was that Schluesner wouldn't make a change. The kid I heard about two years ago was Casey Young who really hasn't seen the field. I watched him in Spring Ball and assumed he would be starting. Obviously this year has some changes coming at WR. I agree with others that Carr has some potential but we'll see coming off his redshirt. It seems like they may need to bring in some juco WR's to compensate for the defections. We should be solid at TE and with a new coach we may even actually throw a pass to a TE next season!

gfhockey
be awesome if he was special teams coach but him and schimdt would probably but heads. highly unlikely he comes back if this woulda happened earlier he woulda been the head coach
Sioux Nation
Don't forget about McGill! Great point! I sure hope he is able to bounce back and play. The TE group is very young. Stockwell is a giant and pretty darned athletic. Adler is another big, strong kid. Speaking do staff, it looks like WR coach is a position they haven't filled yet right? ericpnelson
So any speculaiton on who the new addition is going to be? I have no idea... I looked at their coaches and couldn't find anyone who was in Southern Illinois after 2007. I'm not seeing a clear connection.

Westside
Kostich is from Moorhead. Only connection I see, just to get closer to home. I did listen to part of the WCCO podcast from Sunday w/ Jerry Kill. He mentioned that he just helped Shawn Kostich get a full-time coaching position but could not say where it was at this point. (About the 13:00 mark of this link...) http://minnesota.cbs...s&dcid=CBS.MINN WARNING: You will have to listen to Sid Hartman. Also, Kostich's dad was longtime Moorhead High coach & is now OC at Concordia.

He worked on both sides of the ball at Minnesota, most recently on defense. I can see him being an offensive position coach or special teams coordinator. I guess LB coach is possible too, but Eric Schmidt might coach that group along with his DC duties.
