Kab Posted Monday at 09:49 PM Posted Monday at 09:49 PM Tax incentives are a bitch give tax incentives to a business, new people move in for the jobs, need new schools and infrastructure and where is the money to pay for those things Quote

nodak651 Posted Monday at 10:29 PM Posted Monday at 10:29 PM Kind of sad so many people prefer UND continue to lose a half a million dollars each year on it's golf course. UND is funded by taxpayers as well, so that's taxpayer money, no? The golf facility will apparantly make continued operations at ray richards sustainable, and the same could potential be said for the golf program, as it will provide essential facilities for them. This facility would be a new and different community asset in a way that Albotros isn't. UND should shut down the golf course (another community asset), sell the property, and shut down the men's golf program if this doesn't get the go-ahead, imo. Can't be losing taxpayer money now. 2 Quote

Personally I don't blame him for being pissed. It’s not an indoor golf simulator. It’s a mixed use development with an outdoor driving range/simulator. It’s the type of thing grand forks needs to attract or retain any young talent. Tax incentives? Good. 3 1 Quote

They have been tearing through WY too except out west many were happy to see a fiber internet provider come in and undercut Comcast’s. The construction was a pain but competition always wins Quote

I assume No. Why should they want to, some property has been set aside for public good uses and they are exempt from property tax. 1 Quote

BIGSIOUX Posted Tuesday at 01:00 PM Posted Tuesday at 01:00 PM Ive got a bridge to sell you if you believe he doesn't have a problem w/ competition. Many times has he tried to shake down the Country Club because of their addition of two sims for winter time use of members. Guy is passionate, ill give him that, but he comes off as a whiner every time. 1 Quote

Previously was a par 36 (2-5/2-3) New course looks like a par 33 (no par 5s, and 3 par 3s - rest all par 4s) at this point if that is the plan for rr why not try to use the as much of the old driving range and parking lot to keep it a par 36 without the new developement....par 33 wtf...might as well golf greenwood golf course outside bemidji? just close it for good and have top golf use the whole plot of land with the big condos and townhouses and what not with no golf course ... Green Banner Posted Tuesday at 06:16 PM Posted Tuesday at 06:16 PM No need to worry, Grand Forks is and will get in its own way. The complaining from boomers and the like in the RRGC area already looking to shut project down 3 Quote
