AZSIOUX Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 Nice to see another team besides Manitoba make their way to The Ralph! Look forward to seeing this team hit the ice! GO SIOUX..... - Fighting Sioux Hockey Home Page - Regina Cougars Hockey Home Page Quote
brianvf Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 About time this thread got rolling. Long summer...time for Sioux hockey!! It's been a long time since we had a season-opening exhibition game not against the Bisons. I'm excited to see what the freshmen can do! Quote
IrishSiouxFan Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 I don't know, I kinda enjoyed our yearly ritual of starting off the season by kicking the t-total crap out of our northern neighbors up in Manitoba. Can't hardly wait for Fighting Sioux hockey to consume my Friday and Saturday nights! Quote
sioux rube Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 Always love this game. Get to see everyone play and I'm sure like everyone else I'm pumped to see this Grimaldi kid. Quote

Big A HG Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Sioux 8 Regina 1 First goal: Corban Knight First penalty: Mario Lamoureux Quote
littlebreadman Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Not sure how solid it is, but I heard Grimaldi fractured his knee last week and will not be playing this weekend. Quote
xI Hammer Ix Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Sioux 8 Regina 1 First goal: Corban Knight First penalty: CAPTAIN Mario Lamoureux FTFY Quote
SiouxFanatic Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Not sure how solid it is, but I heard Grimaldi fractured his knee last week and will not be playing this weekend. Brad Schlossman just mentioned that Grimaldi will indeed not be playing this weekend's game along with Colten St. Clair. WCHA preseason rookie of the year Rocco Grimaldi has an undisclosed leg injury and will not play Saturday against the University of Regina. Grimaldi is listed as week to week. UND also may be without Colten St. Clair, who is being held up by the NCAA Clearinghouse. UND coach Dave Hakstol said the compliance staff is working hard to get that resolved. Link: http://undhockey.areavoices.com/?p=88432 Ugh, very unfortunate for Grimaldi. I know we as fans are excited to see him on the ice and I'm sure this has to be a total bummer for him that he won't be able to play right away. As for St. Clair, hopefully that gets figured out. Sodbuster Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Hate to see this injury crap starting already. Quote
MissSioux85 Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 According to Schlossman, NCAA Clearinghouse issues might keep St. Clair out UND also may be without Colten St. Clair, who is being held up by the NCAA Clearinghouse. UND coach Dave Hakstol said the compliance staff is working hard to get that resolved. Quote
Ray77 Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 This is really disappointing. Injuries happen and it stinks that Grimaldi may be out for some time, but St. Clair played juniors for 3 years and committed to UND how long ago? Why would this not be all ironed out a long time ago? Quote
littlebreadman Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 The source I heard the Knee injury from says he will be playing for the Ice breaker, so fingers crossed. I'm not a doctor so I don't know how minor a fractured knee could be. Quote
MissSioux85 Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 According to the REA Facebook page, the 2011 WCHA Championship banner will be raised Saturday night. Hopefully there's a nice crowd in attendance. Quote
Wilbur Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 Would rather have the injury occur now than in Januray or February. No reason to rush things with Grimaldi. May even be necessary to hold him out a bit longer than they'd like to make sure he's okay. Quote
WiSioux Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 SO excited! I just upgraded my cable package so now I get Fox College Sports... I will be WATCHING all the home games (maybe not always live... but I will watch) :D Quote

I checked the guide last night and it only showed college football on all 3 of the FCS channels. Quote
SiouxTupa Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 Anyone know if the game is on Fox College Sports on Saturday? I checked the guide last night and it only showed college football on all 3 of the FCS channels. I can only say that the exhibition games for the last few years were on FCS. Though I thought all of our home games were supposed to be shown on one of the channels (617, 623, and one other I believe) I know a couple did not air last year. Quote

On Directv, it says Regina vs. North Carolina but i'm assuming they meant North Dakota. I think it was channel 617 Quote
siouxpermex Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 I can hardly stand the wait, GO SIOUX!!!! I choose Andrew Mcwilliam as my choice for the first penalty. Quote
sioux7>5 Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 The game is on Fox College Sports. It is in my Direct TV guide on Ch. 617. Unfortunately it says Regina vs. North Carolina. It has the sport right. But c'mon. North Carolina!!!! Quote
