Full on meltdown by CHL fans in Verhoeff and Reschny prospect threads. Its funny how they’re demanding compensation and clamoring for NHL to take action for their benefit yet it was crickets every time a star NCAA player would bail just weeks before season started or worse in the middle of season for the CHL. 1 6 Quote

This is going on X too, how the CHL should amend the agreement not realizing the CHL and NHL can't do anything 2 Quote

nodakgirl93 Posted Monday at 08:23 PM Posted Monday at 08:23 PM https://www.sportsnet.ca/juniors/article/chl-execs-staying-confident-amid-changing-junior-hockey-landscape/ Reschny and Verhoeff mentioned. Some salty tears in this article. "We are the best development environment in the world,” Near said. “Am I surprised that NCAA schools are interested in our players? I'm not.” I think time will tell that NCAA is the best place to play when wanting to get ready for the NHL. 3 Quote

News of their commitments spread throughout Canada. WHL commissioner Dan Near held a press conference Saturday at the Memorial Cup — Canadian major junior's version of the Frozen Four. Near spent most of the presser answering questions about Reschny and Verhoeff leaving the WHL for North Dakota instead of the fact that one of his teams, Medicine Hat, was about to play in the Memorial Cup final. A former NHL player told the Herald he was in a Western Canadian rink over the weekend and all anybody was talking about was North Dakota, Reschny and Verhoeff. If UND wasn't already on the radar of all the top young prospects in Western Canada, it is now. 3 4 Quote

I hope he's the "finisher" that they have indicated he is. We have really needed a guy that can put it away when he has the opportunity to do so. Quote

Boisvert would have been excellent for a more prominent finisher role next season, but I sure like the pieces that Chyz has put together as a replacement for Boisvert/OMac/Perron. Who scores more goals next season...Reschny or Zellers? Quote

TwamleyShuffle Posted yesterday at 01:12 PM Posted yesterday at 01:12 PM Do we think he left because he was concerned how much playing time he’d get given we’ve had much success recruiting since he signed? Quote

I would think so. Was looking more like a middle 6 winger after other additions Quote

Was looking more like a middle 6 winger after other additions When he committed, he was set to be a top 6 and power play guy. Now, he would be potentially playing in the bottom 6. It could also be that he didn’t want to play for Michigan Techs coach and now that they have a new one he wants to come back. Quote

AJS Posted yesterday at 01:36 PM Posted yesterday at 01:36 PM I might still be on the Reschny / Verhoeff high, but I don't hate the Gordon news. I don't want any more players ---> out, but open roster spots right now for schools like UND are very valuable. There's a Top 6 / 9 spot now available. With Gordon out, is there now 13 F expected for next Fall? Quote
siouxfan512 Posted yesterday at 01:40 PM Posted yesterday at 01:40 PM Definitely a bummer about Gordon, but can we land someone better to replace him? The perk with Gordon was already having some NCAA experience, but if you can get the right guy/age/skill level, it won't make this sting as much. Hopefully we hear something soon. Quote
