More Zakreski scouting tonight. Played bumper on PP1, lots of PK time, created a breakaway for himself with a good poke and motor. Didn't come off the ice for the last two minutes as they preserved a one goal lead. Definitely a leader the way he communicates with his teammates.

Sounds like a dude. Good stuff.

Should also mention he had a good dish to open the scoring. Looks like he had a two goal night on Saturday as well.

I believe his dad was Ken Klee who played in the NHL including the CO Avs where he may have gotten his name on a Cup

Folks should watch the transfer portal VERY closely today!! I mean, duh, captain obvious. But, there is a chance for Sioux hockey to add a legit blue chip defenseman for next season….

The portal does not open until march 30

Could this be deja vu as I recall right around this same time last year someone posted a stud d-man from Bemidji would be hitting the portal and was all but a shoe-in to UND! How'd that work out?

Pretty sure the portal opens for non-grad transfers on March 30th

You are correct.

I could be wrong but I thought players could announce before that date they are going to enter the portal?

Damn.  40th USHL goal for Zellers.
As a comparison, Boisvert had 36g in 61gp last year...Zellers with 40g in 45gp this year.
If Boisvert sticks around, those two could make quite a potent PP together...

Having a nice year…only interesting thing I’ve noticed is that he’s even on the year. With his goal/pt total, I’m shocked he’s not a plus player.

I have a feeling it is because Green Bay is a below average team.  They have a lot of guys deep into the minus category, one at -27.

Zakreski two goals tonight for Portland, up to 39 on the season in 66 games.

Hard to know how that equates to the college game...we have seen this story before

Yeah I saw that…and thought of that. But Zellers and Park are on the same line, they both score a ton, you’d think they’d be able to keep the puck out of the net.
