sioux rube Posted December 22, 2024 Posted December 22, 2024 6 former Sioux in the game tonight. Wonder if that's the most ever in one game 1 Quote

Wonder if that's the most ever in one game We could even call it 7 or 6 and half. Miller was on campus, taking classes and skating with team he had committed to until late July/Early August when the Rangers told him they would prefer for him to go play in Plymouth instead. Quote

brianvf Posted January 2 Posted January 2 Nice article on the NoDak Sens: https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/und-hockey/the-nodak-sens-have-arrived-for-ottawa Quote "When I think about North Dakota, it's just the guys," Sanderson said. "It's the closest-knit group I've ever been a part of. We're bonded for life. Having three of those guys here with me made the transition to the NHL much easier." Pinto said he sometimes thinks back to the UND days. "I miss just coming to the rink every day," Pinto said. "We basically lived at the rink at The Ralph, and the camaraderie you have in college — you live with your buddies — that's what I miss the most. We try to stay in touch. But as you get older it gets harder because everyone goes their separate paths. But I just miss those days and I obviously miss The Ralph, too. There's nothing like The Ralph." Kleven said his development in college led him to the Senators. "I'm so grateful for UND, just the coaching staff, the players, the fans, my family and everything there," Kleven said. "I'm so grateful for it. It was a dream come true playing for them. I wouldn't be in the NHL right now if it wasn't for North Dakota." 1 Quote

MGsioux Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago Thoughts on brock Nelson's play in the 4 nations ? I don't think he looked like he belonged there at all. Quote

brianvf Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Sanderson represented well tonight at least. Wish they would have mentioned he was from UND after his goal though. 1 Quote

I would agree but he wasn't the only one. These best on best really let the cream rise to the top. There were many NHL stars that I thought looked average (relative term in this case obviously!) on both sides. I don't see Nelson, Kreider and Trocheck on the Olympic roster next year. Quote
The Sicatoka Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago I was more comfortable with USA29 on the ice than USA86. Hughes was a turnover machine. Quote

Agreed - I think he no question cemented his place on the Olympic team with his play. He was paired with Werenski all night on the second pairing and did well. Slavin-Faber Hughes-McAvoy Sanderson-Werenski That's one formidable d-corp. Fox was exposed in my opinion and has no business in a best-on-best tourney moving forward. Hughes and Werenski are better powerplay options anyway. Quote

I know he's never been known for his skating but he was noticeably slow in this tourney. Again like I said previously, this tourney made quite a few stars look average but I still think Fox is on the Olympic team next year. Quote
