  1. Surprised with the level of your obsession that you don't know that WDAZ doesn't broadcast UND games, Midco pays for that right. How much is it that NBC pays NDSU to broadcast their games again? And buy a clue, the visiting team can't do anything about the broadcasts if the home team refuses to release the rights.
  2. Because away teams control media right? Really good insight otherwise, thanks for your contribution and interest in UND athletics.
  3. On paper, the match-up is as good as UND could hope for against an FBS team when Wyoming has the ball. I have no clue what to expect when UND has the ball from either the offense or defense.
  4. Already getting messages and seeing/hearing its no big deal as their next two games are against teams that he won't need to be 100% for. A hobbled quarterback against Schmidt's aggressive 3-4 is exactly the kind of thing that can quickly change tides.
  5. This blatantly false. There have been ongoing discussions internally for months about the topic, how to proceed and how to fund it.
  6. How would removing North Dakota earlier in the process lead to better choices remaining? The consultants would have still had their "input" and I don't think "no nickname" changed how the committee felt about other nicknames.
  7. While it appeared to be a little bit of a strange play call on 2nd down, if Wentz decides to try to get back to the line of scrimmage or just slides down when he doesn't see anyone open instead of throwing it away, the situation changes completely. At that point, you're at 3rd and between 7-10 but the clock is running or you force Montana to take a time-out. Play call may have been a little questionable but it was the execution that made it look terrible. More or less the equivalent of a running back going out of bounds instead of down right before the sidelines.
  8. I have no problem with shrugging him off like he did. That does not excuse throwing a punch.

    2015 season

Even in the incredible shoot-out in 2012 when UND's defense was atrocious, they gave up less points and yards to Montana than NDSU did yesterday. I don't know how the game against either team will end, but UND's defense won't give up that many points and yards to Montana this year. The flip side is, UND's offense won't be able to move the ball as well as either offense. Don't think they have the size to create the mismatches UM did against NDSU's secondary and it remains to be seen how the O-Line and running game will do up the middle against Montana, which seems to be where NDSU was having the most success. Also a pretty eye opening stat from the game, NDSU had a 10 1/2 minutes TOP advantage, still lost and UM ran more plays than them 92-73.
  10. I didn't defend the fan's actions, in fact I stated fans need to stay off the field and away from opposing players. I also didn't have to add a bunch of things to try to make what the fan did do worse than it actually was. But none of that that precludes Morlock from being in the wrong as well. What's amusing is they won't even see the irony in it. However it is funny to see baseless assumptions and accusations like that before UND has even played a down this year though.
  11. Weird that you need to add in things that didn't happen and make it sound a lot worse than it actually was just to defend it. Sure looks to me like he shrugged him off with his right arm (no issues with that) and then followed with a swing with his left (where the problem lies). And you know damn well if it was a UND player that had done the same thing, FargoU fans would be in an faux uproar, contacting media stations across the nation demanding the player to be suspended or kicked off the team. Not even debatable. I'm still hearing/reading crap about the supposed cheap shot (that wasn't) a UND player had on UM's QB last year from bison fans that I know didn't see the game.
  12. Just for the record, fans need to stay off the field and away from opposing players. That being said, a player should never swing at a fan.
  13. Things that will not get you suspended at Fargo U (a running list): Voter fraudRunning from the cops after stealing a road signPunching someone out after a night of drinking after their girlfriend turns you down, followed by running from the cops while in handcuffsTheft (Note: suspension may apply if you were not going to play regardless)Punching a fan
  14. Its that simple, yet the rise in ticket prices had nothing to do with UND on the schedule this year.... Also, have the cost cuttings started in Fargo already? From someone who worked with the event, NDSU athletics expected 1,000 people at their block party last night (jealous and impressed). Knowing that information, they printed out and brought 300 yard signs....
  15. Cuts very well may have to be made to do it. Did you not see the difference in scholarships offered by UND and NDSU? It only gets larger when you look at total sports and participation numbers. UND sponsors a lot more non-revenue sports, offering more opportunities for student-athletes (and also the reason UND has a higher subsidy level). While not the ideal situation, at some point, trimming a sport or two is a very possible and logical response to this.
  16. My understanding is that UND's FCOA will be slightly higher than NDSU's but not much ($3,600-$3,800 I think). There was some issues with the formulas as they were previously presented but it was never looked into at the time as it wasn't really a relevant number used for much of anything (at least in terms of athletics). Well, UND was the first area school to state they would be offering FCOA in sports where their competitors were (and corresponding offerings on the women's side). Now that NDSU has made an announcement to do it across the board, UND will likely have to re-adjust their strategy as other competitors have changed the landscape.
  17. One thing to take into account is that in NDSU's favor is their smaller offering of sports, particularly on the women's side. If my counting is accurate and all sports were fully funded at both schools (they currently are not), NDSU would offer approximately 191.7 scholarships compared to UND's 254.2. UND's offerings are more in line with peer and regional schools, even excluding hockey, but at some point, a uncomfortable conversation may have to take place.
  18. Ah yes. Knew I was missing something.
  19. Personal opinion only, but I'd argue it noticeably has already. That includes all sports I've attended in the last year or two (MH, WH, VB, MBB, WBB and FB).
  20. I didn't think it was one of the finalists, was there an announcement I missed?
  21. Don't schools have to approve all licensed gear? Possibility it isn't officially licensed I guess.

Its not, quit trying drag a kid's name through the mud even if you're only implying it might be.
  23. Or something crazy like being hypocritical and having double standards on what is and isn't acceptable? The NCAA doesn't care and their members gave them that power. Until the P5 takes their ball and moves on, the NCAA is going to do what it wants. Where else are student athletes going to go? Fact of the matter is, the NCAA won't tell UND fans what they can and can't do. What they may and very will likely do (and have already alluded to) is tell them about consequences that will come from them acting as if the Fighting Sioux is still the nickname of the school (and UND is complicit in the deal by selecting "no nickname"). Laying out consequences for doing something is not the same as telling someone what they can and can't do. Don't believe it? It is exact same play they used to get UND to retire the Fighting Sioux nickname, UND was not forced by the NCAA to do so.
  24. That's the argument you're going to go with? They aren't preventing anyone from doing anything, however when you are a member of a private club, you are subject to their rules.
