  1. The Blackhawks don't own it. An independent graphic designer/photographer from Canada created it as a concept for fun, owns it and as previously stated has defended outside use of it many times. http://icethetics.squarespace.com/blog/2010/7/12/a-history-of-logo-larceny.html
  2. No clue but there was previous speculation he wasn't playing at 100%. I think him completely falling off the depth chart instead of falling to #2 probably confirms that.
  3. Alex Kroke would be the contact in the Athletic Department with any tailgating suggestions. They've been responsive to e-mails sent in the past, probably wouldn't hurt to pass along ideas/comments/concerns. They want tailgating to be as big of an event as the fans do.
  4. The rights/trademark are already owned by someone else. It won't be the logo.
  5. Weekly 2 deep changes: Offense Sean Meehan moves to #1 RG from #1 RT, replacing Brandon Miller Mat Cox replaces Meehan at #1 RT and Elijah Grady replaces Stiner at #2 RT Defense None Special Teams None
  6. Understanding what "free speech" means and how it is or isn't applicable in this situation would probably be helpful as well. At least he admits that "North Dakota" is not a nickname, which is what the committee(s) and the whole process was put together to come up with.
  7. There is? I'd love to have football move on campus but the parking situation would be terrible, especially tailgating, as it currently sits. Agree to disagree on that one.
  8. Not sure what the waiting list is for season tickets at this point but you can't give a donation for the Coach's Club and get 4 lower bowl tickets. You would however still get your parking pass. I believe there was something like 16 season tickets that were not renewed this year so getting lower bowl tickets is not an easy task.
  9. They were talking about recruiting against MWC and PAC-12 teams which, outside of other Big Sky schools, is who they recruit against. I don't think they are real far off in their assessment that they weren't going to win the recruiting battles.
  10. Donation only. Tickets are an additional $420/seat.
  11. Watching from the end zone, I think I saw Studsrud make it to past his first read twice all game. He was immediately locked in on his primary receiver, waiting for them to make their break almost every single snap. It seemed obvious and is concerning. There were multiple secondary receivers coming across the middle on many of the plays he forced the ball to his primary receiver. The interception was an absolutely brutal decision thrown right in the middle of two or three UC-Davis players with the UND player having no chance. That being said, on the TD pass, he looked off the safety nicely and made an excellent throw. His running looked pretty good (minus the turf monster that got him at the end), though if a couple of the plays were truly read-options instead of straight hand off or keeper, he made the wrong decision on a few that could have went for nice gains. He's not in danger of losing his job by any means but there is room for improvement. I trust the staff that he is the best option and in there for a reason. The defense looked good, though you could tell they are still adjusting to Arnell not playing. Thought Johnson played pretty well for the most part. Davis put together two pretty nice second half drives (one aided by a dumb offsides penalty) but I think the defense looked very good overall. Other than a very nice throw on one of the TD's that would have been tough to defend for anyone, Ratelle was an absolute monster out there. Always in position and fundamentally sound. He doesn't miss tackles and is always in the middle of the play. Such a fun player to watch. A little bit of a mixed bag on special teams but I thought Davis left some yards on the field with their return game, UND's coverage wasn't exactly solid.
  12. From the way it looked, there wasn't as many UND fans spread throughout the crowd as I thought there would be. That leads one to believe that NDSU fans were the majority of the people paying the jacked up secondary prices, which is odd since it was just another game on the schedule.
  13. The biggest issue was that the committee didn't cut North Dakota from the start. They were tasked with picking a new nickname, which "North Dakota"/"no nickname" does not fit the criteria of. The majority of stakeholder thing continues to be a false statement with absolutely nothing to back it up. As for why it isn't on the ballot? A)The committee eliminated (giving it more chances to be kept alive than any other nickname before removing it, albeit a few months too late) and B)It's not a nickname. Just because I'm curious, who specifically on the committee would you classify in the "a lot of bad members" group?
  14. I think you're underestimating the student vote on North Stars.

    2015 season

I guess they were one for two on NDSU players who were busted for theft in 2015. The first one didn't make the news at all but the most recent one did.

That one wasn't him. Same first and last name but different middle name and 3 years older . His only prior legal run-ins were 2 speeding tickets.
  17. In June, Hunter showed up the ump and then proceeds to take his jersey off and throw it and it got called "leadership" and showing fire. That is a helluva lot worse than what Perkins did. And you can't be serious on trading him. Why would you get rid of the best/most consistent relief pitcher on the staff who's also happens to be under an incredibly reasonable contract for the next 3 years? Interesting note by Mike Berardino of the Pioneer Press: Perkins has a 6.75 ERA in 7 outings w/ Dan Bellino behind the plate. That's his 2nd-highest for any of 34 plate umps to work 5 + outings.
  18. Brilliant reasoning if I've ever heard it...

  20. Obviously somewhat (see: UND's non-invite as an affiliate for Summit baseball despite it being an easy way to save their autobid). However, if UND pushed for full membership, I don't see them being turned down. The flipside being if UND were to leave the Big Sky, I see a much smaller chance of them being pulled back into the fold depending on how things shake out.
  21. The Summit always has been and likely will always be there if UND wanted to go that direction (with the MVFC and a home for football being the issue). The rub is that it doesn't benefit UND to make any sort of move right now on the precipice of what is likely going to be a major shake-up in conference alignments and levels of competition. Fullerton may have ideas beyond what is achievable but at least he has them and is very public about it. Not sure I'd say the same for Douple. I know which one I'd rather be aligned with (and leaving bridge unburned) while leaving the other as a second option.
  22. Funny thing is, most of them won't have a vote
