  1. While I agree, I still am not sold on him at running back for the long term. He took more solid/hard hits in one half of football than Santiago has taken all year. He runs well but doesn't seem to have quite the vision or the ability to avoid impact like Santiago does (though not many do). As for Norberg, it seems that he has developed a little more "wiggle". Last year it seemed to be head down and that's what you were going to get. He looked much better running the ball Saturday. In his defense, probably helped immensely being a full time running back rather than getting just switched over from linebacker.
  2. I'd go the opposite way. Regular season games are tickets sold. Playoffs games are actual people through the door. Add in Thanksgiving weekend and "short-notice", attendance will be down. Historically that is almost universally the trend through the FCS.
  3. Not sure I can agree with that as UND is flipping to the complete other end of the spectrum (D-III to top 20). Brand new team who is likely still finding its way traveling to one of the top programs in the country, not to mention two players (including one starter) who are expected to play a significant role didn't even dress for the only game UND has played. Wisconsin will be playing its third game against D-1 competition. Not going to overreact one way or another after this game. The upcoming tournament this weekend against some mid-majors will give a much better picture of where this team really is.
  4. I wouldn't say Kaminsky was an unknown at the time but that was definitely good coming out party. That was absurd.
  5. For whatever it is worth, Sagarin does have the Big Sky ranked as the #2 conference.
  6. Ding, ding, ding.
  7. Denying Grand Forks residents a new fast food option is not a good first impression to make.
  8. Hopefully after the first playoff game.
  9. I was disappointed when I clicked that and it wasn't this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E9VhD4SccSE
  10. And I've explained exactly why your theory has zero basis of being true so I guess I don't need bother with that. We both want the same result so we can leave it at that. Hopefully the GF Herald's article (that was about 2 weeks too late) opens a few eyes up.
  11. The deniers will be out in full force on these quotes because they sure shoots a ton of holes in all those "Ralph would have done xxxxx" theories:
  12. A) How? B) I can confidently and unequivocally state that you're "theory" wouldn't be worth the piece of paper it would be written on. That being said, I'd much prefer Roughriders to win. Hawks got momentum from a bogus logo, so whatever gets people to change their mind is fair I guess. Unfortunately the Fighting Hawk vote continues to be the incredibly silent vocal minority and despite voting for Roughriders (for the third time), I have already come to terms that UND is very likely to become another <adjective> <bird>. I'll support whatever wins as it will be the new representation of the University of North Dakota, which is what is important to me.
  13. Is it possible someone wouldn't see the bias or a need to debate them if maybe, they had the very similar political leanings and agreed with their thoughts....? Just a thought.
  14. No, but I'm guessing he was hoping you'd make it at least until UND actually had the opening tip off for the season. It does however seem that you care about their basketball team more than the majority of their football fans.
  15. No reason to doubt you, but seems surprising with how well Q has done as the PG in past. Just another interesting thing to watch play out this year I guess.
  16. I don't disagree with much other than I'm pretty sure Shanks will start. My complete shot in the dark how on average it would break down would be something like this: Q - 32-35 minutes (5-8 minutes available left at the PG spot) Geno - 25-30 minutes with some being at PG (10-15 minutes at the SG spot) Seales - 20-25 minutes (15-20 minutes at SF) Drick - 25-30 minutes with some at C if UND goes small (10-15 minutes at the PF spot) Shanks/Cashman - splitting almost all 40 minutes at the 5 spot with Drick stepping in if UND goes small-ball Basically gives you 50ish minutes or so to split up between Hobaugh, Avants, Baldwin, McDermott and Collins however necessary. Guessing the skillset of the freshmen varies, so depending on opponent or what's needed it could change. Still a little surprised that there is no one redshirting, though maybe someone does next year when Baker is eligible?
  17. If they can play, let them play I guess. That being said, very interested to see what kind of rotation is used this year.
  18. That I didn't know. Alright, I'll be happy with coming up with the 2nd furthest west in the contiguous USA.
  19. Turns out I guessed wrong, good catch. I'll claim mine as the furthest west in the continental contiguous USA against a college team.
  20. In the USA, I'd have to guess Northern Arizona University in 1978. One game was played in Flagstaff and the other in Phoenix.
  21. Here's a few more pictures of the SDSU facility that show the layout a little better. Both facilities have small pluses and minuses over each other but without a doubt, both are currently some of the nicest in the nation at any level. The thing that I'm most jealous about is that SDSU now has their football facilities (locker rooms, coach's offices) upgraded along with their weight/strength training, sports medicine and training rooms, all of which UND won't have until Phase II is completed. Hopefully people seeing how Phase I turned out will build momentum for Phase II.
  22. Or maybe just be accurate when making blanket statements. Just because you don't watch or pay attention doesn't mean they aren't part of the athletic department.
  23. Yeah so did I. Tom Wynn is the head coach for men's and women's tennis (obviously the men's team for only a few years) and Dick Clay is the head coach for men's and women's cross country..
  24. You sure about that? Tom Wynn has been coaching for 20+ years and Dick Clay has been at it for over 30 years.
  25. I guess for me, it isn't hard to see how "no nickname" did not score well on an exercise designed to evaluate nicknames. Even if those two score you mentioned would be have 0, it would have still been the lowest ranked and out of the top 5 by a decent amount. Someone also gave Roughriders a -2 when no other score was below 2. You can point at outliers like that for every nickname. I mean someone gave "no nickname" a +8, meaning they literally felt that having nothing to describe the athletic teams (outside of the University's name, which is used regardless) demonstrates 8 out of the 9 characteristics positively. Even the most homer "no nickname" fans on this board couldn't find 8 of the 9 that fit that way.
