  1. I have mixed opinions. Home opener is always a large draw, regardless of opponent. I think what will hurt more is that it is a Thursday game, so the out-of-town crowd will be light.
  2. Saw Braden Hanson at the NLI signing day party. Kid is tall. Didn't get a chance to talk to him, but he appeared very friendly to those that did and seems happy to be here. Mussman again commented on how he's "coming in the right way". Hopefully he has a great impact on not only the coming year, but the underclassmen as well. Not generally a fan of one-year fixes like this, but I'm thinking this may be an exception and work out well for UND football and hopefully Hanson himself.
  3. Let's not pretend that if NDSU would have had their way (twice I believe), they would be in the Big Sky and it would be the greatest thing since sliced bread. They got turned down and the chip on their shoulder hasn't gone away. NDSU fans never miss an opportunity to take a shot or down play the conference that said no to them. As for the topic at hand, despite claims by each fanbase, it will be a few years to see who's class is the greatest of all time. Both schools got some kids they wanted, and missed on some. Time will only tell how the recruits fit into the schemes of each school.
  4. And you keep not answering the question on how the success of the petitions has any bearing on the Spirit Lake filings, which is exactly what you were insinuating in your original post.
  5. So no bearing then. The petitions have no correlation with Spirit Lake's filings, but yet you are insinuating in your original post that it does. If I'm wrong, feel free to correct me, but I don't see any connection at all other than handcuffing UND further in the matter. Spirit Lake should continue on with their filings, but I haven't been convinced yet how the petitions will do anything but make a bigger mess for UND in the athletic department and the university as a whole.
  6. Can you explain to me how the latter has anything to do with the former? What bearing will either of these petitions have on Spirit Lake's lawsuits?
  7. There is such thing as verbal assault though Dave. While you have a Freedom of Speech, it only goes so far. No one has a right to verbally assault someone and hide behind Freedom of Speech.
  8. It will be very interesting to see if all of these WR's come in or someone has changed their mind. Regardless, they are definitely working on giving Mollberg and Bartels some guys to develop chemistry with over the next 5 years. Maybe we will be seeing a transition into a little bit more of a wide open offense? Would be nice to have some 4-5 receiver sets to go along with what has traditionally been a very strong ground game.
  9. Single game tickets are $15-20/game depending on where you sit with the Montana game and Homecoming being $5 more/seat. Source: UNDsports.com
  10. You and your thousand of Sioux fans can keep fighting the good fight, you will get support where appropriate. But do a favor to those of us that support the University of North Dakota, regardless of nickname or logo, and quit trying to drag UND into the battle and in the process harm the University, the athletics department and the student-athletes
  11. Looks like no Champions Club donation is required for these either.
  12. I believe Midcontinent was busy showing University of Sioux Falls vs. Black Hills St....
  13. Actually more of a response than I figured you would give.
  14. Semantics. I assume most people are well aware that the students pay student fees that go towards athletics. Students pay extra for hockey tickets, those are not "free". They get tickets to all other events for no extra cost towards them, essentially "free". No extra money comes out of their wallets.
  15. I believe they were the main sponsor, but I did not hear or see anything to the like of them giving out free tickets like they did last year down in Fargo. The only free tickets that were given out were student tickets, which is normal.
  16. Welcome to dealing with the backlash created by the NCAA. Either get over it or get used to it. Its not going away. The only amusing thing about the whole nickname situation might be watching NDSU and other fans continuously getting nailed in the media for the use of so-called racist chants.
  17. #3 (Felt). Heck of a shooter, responded to a couple of our big 3's with one of his own. Also flops around, saw him on the ground 3-4 times without much contact. He did draw a foul on one of them so I guess it worked.
  18. Crowd was good tonight. Bjorklund is a beast when he gets the ball down low, but so was Brekke. Neither could stop the other. Huff played very well within himself on offense despite getting defended very well. Didn't force any shots and made passes where he needed to. Part of the poor shooting on both teams was due to the defense, I think the other part goes to the depth perception issues playing in the Ralph. I was also surprised with the rotation of players Jones used tonight. Don't think some of those guys have played that much tonight but they came off the bench and played well. As other's have stated, neither team played up to their potential, but I won't complain with the outcome at all. Now let's hope the team can finish strong, win the Great West again and play in whatever tournament we are eligible for.
  19. Not sure what the allegedly part is about, that is exactly what it was in response to.
  20. That's garbage. How are they in a no-win situation?
  21. I will agree and think it is a little confusing, but the home schedule hasn't been all that great in terms of teams and timing. Three game of the eight home games have been against Jamestown/Mayville/Valley City, not exactly teams you're going to get a large non-season ticket holder crowd for. Two of the other five home games were Thanksgiving weekend with Montana the night before Thanksgiving and WIU the Saturday after. Both nights that students are gone and alot of people are traveling. The one that confuses me the most is the SDSU game only drawing 1500. Was it because they got blown out so bad the week before? I think a win in front of a large crowd that hasn't been to many games tonight could do alot of attendance going forward.
  22. Here is what I have learned in the process: There is currently a waiting list that requires a $100 deposit that they will hold until you get tickets (or I suppose tell them you want off the waiting list). If you give a donation, you are not guaranteed tickets and you do not get your donation back if you do not receive tickets, but as other have said, you can use your donation to acquire other tickets . Receiving tickets all depends on renewal rates for existing ticket holders and priority points. The more money you give, the more points you get, the better chance you have at tickets, but again, donating money does not guarantee the opportunity to purchase tickets. Josh Morton has been very helpful in answering any questions I have had short of what the minimum donation would be to guarantee tickets, but this is a moving target so it would be tough to say anyway.
  23. I talked with someone higher up in the ticket office at the booster luncheon Friday and he indicated that sales had significantly picked up the prior few days and sales were right around 6,000 and they were expecting to surpass 7,000 and near 8,000 by game time depending on how things went. He also said that they expect a large walk-up crowd, for some reason its common for that in Grand Forks. Take that for what its worth. The lower bowl is now sold out and the best set of 2 tickets in the middle section is 8-10 rows up.
  24. They were outside before the women's game this afternoon with an air horn, blowing it to get attention. I found it off-putting, but to each his own I guess.
  25. It was a response to that.
