They should be thankful for their free scholarships paid for by the rest of the non athlete students and subsidized by the taxpayers of ND. Seriously I don’t understand this entitlement. Maybe we should worry more about the academic needs of the university not some non revenue sport.

I don't know if you've noticed this sites name is called sports.

The whole goal here on Sioux Sports is about the advancement of the athletic programs.

I mean, it's actually not a bad idea:

Have UND soccer play on the local high school soccer field.

Afterall, It is a much nicer facility than UND soccer!

UND has a swim team without a swimming pool and a tennis team without tennis courts!

Swim team was probably also about to have to go to the local high school for that too until the city decided to build one!

UND: Trying to keep up with Grand Forks Central's athletic facilities since 1999.

I meant to say only football, and hockey have on site for all games. Altru had on site for all home events.

But they do have a athletic trainer assigned to them FT. According to their roster under coaches they have listed https://fightinghawks.com/sports/womens-soccer/roster/staff/rhiannon-vandegrift-dat-atc/2144 

 

If there is not a on site team physician during home games they need to speak with Sanford, that would be a lapse of coverage compared to Altru who would have a physician from the Family Med next door come to alot of events.

To your first point.....they don't. Not to the standard of a high end "FIFA certified" quality pitch ( soccer lingo) as some here are selling it.  The fairways at Ray Richards are more playable and my neighbor mows his grass but still looks like an unattended vacant lot 90% of the time. 

To your 2nd point.....absolutely have no doubt that's a big part of it. Probably the biggest reason for the complaints.

Should be maintained but if they want a new field find someone to pay for it like hockey and softball did and basketball.

at least they aren’t changing (n tents like playoff football did ,

Decided to drive by the soccer field. It's actually pretty nice.

They do have a few small bleachers for fans. The teams do have a "wind protector" around the team benches. They have a pretty nice elevated scoreboard even.

And a small portable shed for equipment and two blue portapotties next to it.

Could small upgrades maybe an arch over the entrance to the field "home of UND soccer" and some real bathrooms and they'd be set.

Happy Camper Coffee is setup and they have cornhole to play all setup out front.

Turf looked good.

The expectation to have a FIFA level field in North Dakota is quite fascinating as well.  Not as fascinating as my insight into the female mind but close.

I don't think any of the opinions will matter if it turns out UND are not title 9 compliant. I do think they can be more competitive but the best years in program history for softball and soccer have happened with the current head coaches and in the end who really cares about soccer? We want the hockey team to win and football/basketball would be great.

Bronson turf was rebuilt not long ago; they played at EGF HS for a season.
They now occupy what was UND WIH locker facilities. 

Yes, have better medical staff on site during play.

But I'm suspecting shiny new (DONATED) Albrecht Field is part of this.

When WIH was proposed to be cut, moving soccer lockers into that space was part of the Title IX review done before any actions were taken.

This just in - the athletic trainer on hand does everything.  The doctors on hand at other games (football, basketball) are a final-say in worst case situation type of role.  Other than that they stand there and do nothing.  

These girls (and coach?) are all bent over softball getting their new field. End of story.
