.357 Posted yesterday at 04:45 AM Posted yesterday at 04:45 AM Melvin Strahl, goalie from Mich. St., a 5th rd pick of CBJ, entering portal. Played only 3 games last year but had very good numbers. Imagine he would be in high demand. Quote

TheFlop Posted yesterday at 12:15 PM Posted yesterday at 12:15 PM If this is it for UND what a victory. Strathmann is the best of the group and players like him are a dime a dozen in the portal or in the WHL 1 Quote

Popular Post Frozen4sioux Posted yesterday at 12:50 PM Popular Post Posted yesterday at 12:50 PM I'm kinda thinking the era of that extra grinder, the long shot the kid coming in to plug a hole is over at UND. Which sucks cause Ive always admired the kid that makes it ot of the MJ or NAHL and just battles and grinds in practice and gets the game here and there, endures for3 years or so and then develops into a leader or solid 4th liner for his sr season. A kid that embodies the Sioux spirit and leaves the program both better for the team and himself with a great education. Just dont see that as a part of the NIL era in any way going forward, for the blue bloods at least 9 Quote
SIOUXELEVENS Posted yesterday at 12:51 PM Posted yesterday at 12:51 PM For being such a tight group it seems people want to play somewhere else. You would think Strathmann and Klee would get lots of playing time next year. So time to bring in 10-12 players again. 1 Quote
Frozen4sioux Posted yesterday at 12:53 PM Posted yesterday at 12:53 PM Wonder how the portal works for Air Force.... I'm not thinking a kid can portal out of their Military responsibilities. Or maybe they can, genuinely curious Quote
SIOUXELEVENS Posted yesterday at 12:55 PM Posted yesterday at 12:55 PM No Denver or Duluth players yet 1 Quote

IIRC, students can leave before the start of year 3 with no military obligations. They may incur a small fee for uniforms etc. 1 Quote

Strathmann is the best of the group and players like him are a dime a dozen in the portal or in the WHL 100%. It's been said over and over but seems to need repeating. We don't know who wanted to leave and who essentially was pushed out. This says nothing about these guys are players or people. Strathmann / Klee / Jubenville - solid players for sure. Why I agree with @TheFlop that this would be a victory. It gives the staff room to balance the classes a bit (i.e. Portal) to go along with trying to add high-end CHLers. The question I pose isn't if Strathmann / Klee / Jubenville are good players, but do you think you can upgrade your roster at their position? Quote

Wonder if Engel will now take his game to a D3 as initially anticipated. 2 Quote
