At long last we return to REA for a series against the born again Red Hawks from Oxford.  They just "split" with Western but got two of the possible six points with the win being in OT.

Who knew they had 17 wins on the year?  Who honestly knows the name of their head coach?  I had to look it up, and I couldn't tell you the guy after Blasi either.

If we get 12 points the next two weekends we are playing with house money in Kalamazoo.

Discuss.....

Head Coach Anthony Noreen has done a good job getting guys from his previous team, the Tri City Storm (USHL) to Oxford, like Ilia Morozov. A couple under the radar nice additions like Kocha Delic and Ethan Hay out of the O plus Matteo Drobac out of USports (previously the O) as well. David Deputy being an instant contributor is a pleasant surprise for RedHawks fans.

Giampa, Helgeson, & Lukashevich out of the portal were nice pickups as well.

Seems like every RedHawks game I look at the box score, I see David Deputy’s name.

Glad that we no longer have a doormat in the league. Apparently their basketball team is having a good season too, they were undefeated as of a week ago. Noreen seems like the real deal; is he here to stay, or climbing the ladder?

Would need to have multiple great seasons before potentially moving up to pro

I've watched Miami a couple times now. Definitely not the Miami of past years.

Gonna need that full 60 thing to get the results we want.

I watched the last 10 mins of each of their games in St cloud. These guys SELL OUT for their teammates and for the W. They were blocking bombs short range against Burnevik to hold onto a 1-goal lead. They cashed in on their opportunities even though it got to a point where they weren't generating a ton. What a wild turnaround for that program.  At first I thought Noreen should win NCHC coach of the year (and he still should), but honestly he's got himself a case for National COTY.

Championship mentality.  The goal that UND gave up on Saturday night Dylan James was in the area of the shot from the point but if you asked him he probably would tell you he can't let that puck get to the net and do more for his team.  He more than made up for it getting the huge 3rd goal, but in tight hockey games in March and April that is the difference.

I'll disagree on that goal. I think DJ was in the perfect position for shot block. M Plante fired the puck 2+ feet wide of the net and it ricochetted off his brother's leg and in. Hard to fault the winger who was in the direct-to-net shooting lane.

I agree shot way wide and got a lucky bunch.

Love DJ to death, probably my favorite guy on the team.  Watch at the 3:11 mark of the video.  Can agree to disagree, but gotta at least have your stick on the ice in the lane and he even kind of shied away from blocking it.  Like I said, made up for it later when it counted.

Edit*  He did have his stick there, but I'm greedy and would like more in the way of the puck to the net.

2’ is kind hahah that puck looked like it was 5-10 feet wide.

Like a long lag putt that you forget to read

I agree that anything less than six points against the RedHawks is unacceptable.
