So, I have been absent most of the summer. Just checking all these college football schedules and putting them in my calendar.

Has the mortar and concrete been taken out of the Alerus? We do not play NDSD? Like I checked the schedule twice. 
 

Could someone give me the two minute elevator speech on that?

NDSU went FBS and is no longer in the MVFC, so they’re no longer on the schedule.

As compensation, the MVFC has awarded UND a another home game against SDSU in 2027.

I believe his comment was in jest as was mine.  I fully expect that USD will be at home next year.  He is talking about the following:

In 2024 the Dakota schools and the MVFC worked on a scheduling agreement that would balance out the schedules.  As an example:  SDSU would play UND/USD at home one year and then play NDSU at home the next year.  This change was implemented in 2025 which cause some schools to travel to same school twice.  In this case, SDSU had to travel to UND in both 2024 and 2025.  UND was scheduled to play at Brookings in 2026 and then rotate going forward.

Then NDSU ran away to FBS and it presented the same problem for the remaining Dakota schools.  So to balance the schedules again, SDSU is traveling to Grand Forks for the third year in a row and SDSU fans have been grousing at the situation.

Well, checking out some FBS social media pages and it seems the Bison fan base has been rather arrogant (?) about dominating the FBS their first year. Planning a bowl game right away. Time will tell….

Well since you can actually qualify for a bowl game at 6-6 or even lower if not enough teams finish at 6-6 it's not that difficult to make a bowl game.
