Forgetting undisciplined play with terrible penalties. Disappointing game on all three phases. Quote

fightingsioux4life Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago Anyone who thought Eric Schmidt's first season would go smoothly without any bumps in the road was delusional. He is working with mainly Bubba's leftovers and the team is already much improved. Once he gets a couple of recruiting classes on the field, I think we'll be Top 10 nationally, if not higher. 2 Quote

Agreed, just disappointing that had the be the bump in the road and at that time. So many upsets this weekend, it would have been a prime opportunity to move up. 1 Quote

So far, I like what Schmidt is doing. 1 Quote

And then probably thinking not having real good chances against both xdsus in reality. But now I think most believe we actually have a very good chance to beat at least 1 and decent chance of getting both if we play to our capabilities. Quote

I think SDSU is very poachable this year, especially since we have them at home. NDSU will be much tougher, but being at home gives us a decent chance. 1 Quote

I could agree with this if it was a talent issue, but they were not ready to play on Saturday and that is concerning. Overall happy with what Schmidt has done, but they took a big step back on Saturday. Maybe that loss refocuses them. Also concerning that in all 3 losses we had the ball with a chance to go down the field and win the game and were unable to do that. Will need to do make plays at the end of the game in the playoffs or the season will be done. Quote

It seems like we struggle to win down there more often than not. Edit: Our last road win vs. USD was in 2008. Quote

Schmidt is getting the best out of what he has to work with. I think Schmidt will bring in top notch FCS talent, but you won't see those kids on the field for a couple more years. Quote

Think the Dakota Dome struggles are overblown. Rarely have we been the better team going down there. 2 years we played horrible everywhere after the NDSU win. Last Win was in 2008, but being the he Big Sky while they were in the MVFC we didn't play them as much. Quote
UND Football Fan Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago With how poorly we played especially with the turnovers, our past teams would have been blown out. We had two drive potentials to win the game in the 4th. This program is trending the right direction. 1 2 Quote

Actually need to get at least something on the first 3 downs so its not 4th and 10. Even a 4 yard completion on 2nd down makes it 4th and 6th and a lot more options. Red zone and the two minute offense (particularly in situations where you cant run the ball because no timeouts) need improvement. 1 Quote

CMSioux Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago As the old saying goes: Offense, Defense, Special Teams, win two out of three and you will probably win the game. IMO: Offense - we scored 21 they scored 17 - wash Defense: we held them to 17, they scored 7 on us - wash Special teams: They scored 2 points on us, had a couple of great returns that shortened their field. Them This game was a fluke and it was still in our grasp. 1 Quote
