Dustin Posted Monday at 04:27 PM Posted Monday at 04:27 PM Pardon me if this has been discussed before somewhere, but the 3x3 OT loss on Friday made me do a double take about points/standings/rankings, etc. So, in the NCHC, there is no difference between losing a 3x3 OT and losing a shootout, is that right? 1 point for either?? But, as for the NCAA, a 3x3 OT loss is 2/3 loss of a loss and 1/3 of a win?? If the 3x3 OT ends as tie, it is recorded as a tie, regardless of shootout results? Quote

For the NPI I believe it's 55% and 45% for an OT win and loss. 2 Quote

This team needs a forward or two to take that step and generate offense consistently as we have a lot of great depth, but not a lot of true finishing so far this season. 4 Quote

Here's a good breakdown https://www.collegehockeynews.com/info/?d=npi I really wish they would simplify this crap. Go to 4x4 OT for 10 minutes for regular season games. If it's still tied, then that's what we put in the record books. Playoffs would remain the same as always (play until there is a winner). 2 Quote

Yes but many fans get upset when they don’t think their team isn’t where they think it should be. I’ve never paid any attention to them Quote
The Sicatoka Posted Monday at 09:23 PM Posted Monday at 09:23 PM The only "poll" that matters is the "pole" you raise a banner on. Thus endeth today's homonym lesson. 1 Quote

burd Posted Monday at 11:25 PM Posted Monday at 11:25 PM OK, I better come out on this. Polls mean just about everything to me. Just like natties, good ratings raise UND hockey in the estimation of others, bringing prestige, admiration, and bragging rights. My personal life is sadly lacking those things, so I am forced to experience them vicariously through UND hockey. As long as the Hawks muck around outside the top 5 or 6, I got nothin’. Don’t send money. Lots of rich people are hockey losers. And if you’re a hockey loser, you might just as well cheer for Omaha. 1 Quote
