Indiana State @ UND 10/25/25

7 games is a large enough sample size. Averaging 39 PPG while giving up 19. They have an above average MVFC offense (ranked 2nd) and defense (ranked 3rd). This one will not be close.

Hope it's not too premature to call for putting up 50+ points and 400 yds. rushing against them, but the debacle of the last two years lingers in the back of my mind, realizing that we're not the same team that we were the last two years, but also realizing that ISU may not be the same team, either, judging by the fact that they were only down 10-7 at halftime vs. SU (eventually lost 38-7).  Also, we're missing Ziebarth.   Anything can happen in the MVFC, but I'd be happy with a comfortable win where we play well, with no significant injuries, considering the gauntlet that we're facing in 3 of the 4 games thereafter.

I don't have any point spread requirements, I just want us to come out and look and play like we have all year....which is pretty darn good. If we do that things will take care of themselves and we will win by 3 scores or more.

Reps for 2nd string in the 4th quarter, and no injuries. Hoping we have a commanding enough lead in this one going into the 4th quarter where another QB plays the entire 4th quarter.

They have better than an average offense.   They are usually up by at least 4 TDs at the half then are on cruise control rest of the way.  This team is on its way to an undefeated Valley season.  Both 1-29 schools south of us are overrated.

As we all know tell me how our lines played and I'll tell you if we won the games. Last year's loss to Indiana State was because of our D. That D is history. This is a three score win at home.

Funny what a difference a competent coach makes.  You go from last year's dumpster fire to probably the best team in the D1 era that will vie for a spot in Nashville.   Unless the offense starts to turn the ball over on a regular basis they win out and are easily a top 2 seed in the playoffs.

I want a lot of points, but more importantly I'd like to see 4 consistent quarters. If you play a full game, the points will happen.

It would nice to see our backups play ALOT, and hopefully play well! Loved what I read about Schmidt wanting to build depth with experience and reps.

defense to get pressure without blitzing....4 or more sacks

AND get the new young kicker to kick some fg's from distance to see if he's ready bc you can't hide your fg kicking game for 10 years without it catching up to you like it did in monntana.....make all xp's and go 3 for 3 or 4 for 4 for fg's with one from 45 or more...

and no Simon or the cadence Dennis experiment....ANY balls that would/could go to them goes to DENG DENG DENG DENG!!!!!!!! (use him while you got him)

A couple of posters have used the word (competent) to describe the coaches.

That word is not even close to what is here now. These are great coaches, many with NFL experience and are led by a great leader who is intent on winning every moment of every day.

Agreed, I've been over the Caden Dennis thing for a while. I'm sure he is a great kid and works hard but I'd rather see a younger receiver get more looks. More Deng Deng, more Kristen Hoskins, more Kory Tai, more tight ends.

I'm not big on Romfo lining up under center anymore either. He isn't the same type of player Brockstar was. I'm still not saying they couldn't find some sort of role for him, but it should be few and far between. Maybe I'll eat my words, and he will come up with a huge play at the right time, but who knows.

Yes, there were some transfers, but there are a lot of guys contributing that were on the roster last year. IMO it shows how behind the last coaching staff was.

I'm not a Romfo hater as he has done nothing but work his butt off since being here and appears to be a great teammate, but I think his role should be limited to being the holder on FG and Extra points.  If you want to mix in a fake off one of those than so be it.

Agreed. I think I'd be more willing to listed to using Romfo if we didn't have so many other tools. The fact is this team finally has a number of weapons, so there just isn't a need to work in gimmicks.

Then they need to get better with route running and blocking. I believe Isaac was asked directly about this the last week or two and he was pretty clear on what some of the younger guys need to do to get on the field more. Potential is definitely there and there are some things built directly for them, but if you lean too heavily on that, the offense becomes quickly predictable based on who's on the field.
