Popular Post airmail Posted Tuesday at 10:37 PM Popular Post Posted Tuesday at 10:37 PM CWU had over 300 yards of offense against the Griz last week, had 21 first downs, and led time of possession (although Montana scored twice in a bout 2 minutes on a couple drives in the second half... they don't need a lot of time, perhaps?). Anyway, if we can't better CWU's stats, I'll be disappointed. I think our O-line vs. their D-line supports UND, while the flip side supports Montaynya. Special teams may be a deciding factor and I'm still pi$$ed we failed on two FGA last week. I flip a coin on this one - we just don't know what we don't know at this early stage of the season. All things considered, I think it will be a good football game between two good teams; both who will learn a lot about themselves and what the rest of the 2025 season holds. Is it okay to skip a wedding to watch UND football? I say yes... not missing this one! 3 3 Quote

Guys a beast. We managed to mostly hold him in check last year besides a 63 yard TD run. I guess on top of Gillman I would say the environment scares me a bit too. I know they played at KState already so they have the exposure but I think this could be just as tough of a place to play, if not more. Really wish I could have made the trip but I can’t wait to watch. Eli’s mother is a friend of mine. His younger brother is also on the squad. I put in a word for UND and emailed Bubba. He got right on it but the Griz won. 1 Quote
Mama Sue Posted Wednesday at 01:58 AM Posted Wednesday at 01:58 AM I want: 1. a win. 2. no injuries. 3. strong O and D lines. 4. one QB sac and 2 TFL per quarter. 2 Quote
sioux24/7 Posted Wednesday at 01:37 PM Posted Wednesday at 01:37 PM Montana seems suspect at run defense. I’m going to make a call that we see multiple 100 yard rushers. I think our offense can get it done but I’m concerned about the defense. 1 2 Quote
Nodak78 Posted Wednesday at 02:34 PM Posted Wednesday at 02:34 PM The RBs will be fine. This will set up a couple deep shots as well. We get this one on the road. 2 Quote
Brim006 Posted Wednesday at 02:58 PM Posted Wednesday at 02:58 PM Did Montana actually struggle a little bit against D2 Central Wash last week? I havent watched the highlights but might have to. I dont recall who they all lost from last year or anything whatsoever. 1 Quote

siouxfan512 Posted Wednesday at 03:26 PM Posted Wednesday at 03:26 PM Based on limited reading it looks like there may be some opportunities to run on the Grizz. If CWU can do it, UND should be able to do it and do it much better. That being said, I can see the Grizz putting a big emphasis on stopping the run this week. Seems like a game where you may want to get Jerry some easy completions out of the gate to open up the run game a bit. I could see this being a Seidl and Gilman show this week. Should be fun! I'll likely be watching on my phone from a kid's soccer game somewhere. 2 Quote

Yes, Montana definitely struggled on defense. Both teams moved the ball well in the first half, and each had one costly turnover. CWU is a good, but certainly not great dII team. They are currently ranked in the 20's in the d2football.com poll. UND ran for over 200 yards against Montana last year, and won despite Simon going 11-24 for just 97 yards and a pick. If Kaminski plays like he has through the first two games, UND has a good chance. 1 1 Quote

If I recall, we got him right after Carson Hegerle committed to the Bison. Was really hoping to land Hegerle and instead we got Dennis. Never had really hear much about Hegerle and just looked him up to see he retired from football in 2024. Too bad as that kid seemed to have a lot of potential, but that's the way it goes sometime. Dennis has certainly contributed and held onto the ball while taking some massice hits (FU SDSU!), but was hoping he may be a bit more of a deep threat with his speed .... I'm shifted my excitement and hope to Deng Deng, but will be glad to eat some crow if Dennis can start catching the ball in bigger chunks. 1 Quote

I believe you are correct, I feel like I remember hearing that as well. You certainly aren't the first to mention his speed, I just feel like he was hyped up as a potential deep threat and he either doesn't have the speed we thought, can't find separation, or doesn't have the hands to be the deep guy. I don't know!?!? 1 Quote

Haven’t seen him really used as a deep threat ever. Was excited for him as well. 1 Quote

This was a common refrain when talking about Bubba's recruits over the years. And the potential rarely, if ever, fulfilled itself. 1 Quote

Decent speed keep in mind Weston Dressler ran a 10.44 at state meet senior year and that speed/quickness was special. 1 Quote
Hawkster Posted Thursday at 12:58 PM Posted Thursday at 12:58 PM 41-38 Hawks. Bubba beat them last year and the team is better. No reason this game isn't a W. 1 Quote

Brim006 Posted Thursday at 02:59 PM Posted Thursday at 02:59 PM 47-17 UND. The griz will steal 2 explosive long passing TDs in an otherwise dominant performance on both sides of the ball by UND. I think UND will score on all but 2-3 possessions via 5 TDs and 4 FGs. Z will have himself a game. Jerry is a killer and is going to take the crowd out of it early and it will snowball from there. Might take a possession or 2 to overcome the environment, but I still think he gets things rolling pretty early. UND is the better team. 1 Quote
