Leaving NCAA in bad spots. Good point. These top CHLers who get drafted before their first NCAA game are high reward; but they're also high cost & high risk. Can imagine the hole it would leave in a team's top 6 or top 2 if their expected recruit suddenly bolts. The Jasper Weatherby Effect. Quote
Wilbur Posted Tuesday at 03:13 AM Posted Tuesday at 03:13 AM Grayden Peterson from WFHS picked by the Force. Rumors I hear is he's headed to play for the Sioux Falls Power this year. Quote

B is a tall task for any college program but if Penn State starts tossing money around, watch out. Quote

Not signing an ELC just pushes back RFA & UFA, which owners and GMs like. Plenty of teams are very supportive of prospects going the NCAA route and developing better instead of rushing into pro. The Sicatoka Posted Tuesday at 04:32 PM Posted Tuesday at 04:32 PM Offer kid $250k NIL. AHL salary on two-way ELC: $92.5k. What could go wrong. 2 Quote
siouxfan512 Posted Tuesday at 04:39 PM Posted Tuesday at 04:39 PM When will NIL become contingent upon signing a contract to stay in college for more than a year. Nothing would surprise me at this point. 2 Quote

nascar99 Posted Wednesday at 07:38 PM Posted Wednesday at 07:38 PM Unsurprisingly, Sammy Nelson (2008, NTDP, 2027 Draft) commits to Notre Dame where his brothers are. Quote

yzerman19 Posted Friday at 12:05 AM Posted Friday at 12:05 AM Draft order in WHL draft is getting better with NCAA. Its still not perfect, but of the kids I know that got drafted, they all belong in the conversation. Congratulations to every kid that got their number called for a path to the next level. Joey Cullen would be a top 2 pick if his dad didn't own part of the Force and he wasn't a virtual lock for NTDP. Kid is an absolute talent and will play hockey for a while. 1 Quote

Will be interesting to see if they can be convinced this new route is better. The stipend is barely enough to cover a monthly visit compared to having games in the region. Quote
