Gophers: Vegoe posted on GPL that Matt Cullen will be in a "player development role."  Rumored that Laylin will be an assistant and possibly keep Gordon and Paul Martin, leaving Steve Miller odd man out. 

SCSU: Sydney Wolf tweeted out yesterday SCSU was hesitant about letting current assistants go, assumed that was due to budget.  She later tweeted that Bemidji assistant Trevor Winter is one name she's heard a few times....but also noted that it's been pretty tight lipped who the other finalists are.

Some rev share numbers, UND at 500k plus 250k of Alston. The ivies working around it with paid internships is an interesting tidbit.

The Ivey tidbit definitely was interesting.

 

Fortunately, feel like that doesn't really compete with UNDs player type that they recruit, just not really paid internship personalities hahah. They'd rather work in the hockey world or maybe construction, real estate, etc something along those lines once they hang up the skates.

That's a much better list than I was expecting. Herter would surprise me but would be a great hire.

Apparently his family wants him to stick at Q for a while and get his education, so I'd be surprised to see him leave before the end of his junior year. Both his dad and his uncle are Cornell alums although he wasn't considering Cornell as far as I know

He's thrown his name in the hat a few different places, but I'm kind of in the same boat as I'll only believe it when I see it.  He's got a great thing going with Fersch at Western. 

My gut tells me Nick Oliver, being a former player and assistant coach is the move that they will make.  Similar in age to Carle with head coaching experience in the USHL and also with USA hockey.  Yet, is he the head coach in waiting at Wisconsin?

Time will tell I guess.

Potulny, Miller, Larson all with HC experience at NCAA...

....toss in Laylin, Cullen....keep Gordon and Martin.  Not even close IMO.

But it was. The guy you wanted didn’t want it the second, third, and fourth didn’t even get contacted. You settled for a guy the entire fan base didn’t want.

Whether or not either hire ends up working out will be interesting to watch.
