When I was in school in the mid and late 80's they were more frequent. At one point the Hockey team and Football team were both banned from going out by their coaching staffs. I remember a pretty good brawl at The Bridge one night. The Hockey team put a pretty good beating on the football squad. We had a couple skirmishes at our house with a few football players who couldn't behave themselves at our All Campus parties. I remember Russ Parent getting in a fight with a running back from the football team that resulted in russ going through the front window and landing in the yard with a chunk of glass in his back. 12 stitches later they were banned from partying with each other 1 Quote

You took a hockey class where Jackson showed up, sometimes, and he gave you the same advice I give my 10-year-old & his team at his squirt practice?? And you think that qualifies him as a coach to take over one of the most historically successful college hockey programs in the country? Now I better understand how David Koresh was able to convince all those people down in Waco he was right. 🤯 You remind me of the dude in that same class who wore a half visor and treated every day like it was his shot to show Hak what he could do and make the team - way too serious for the venue. 1 1 Quote

I think it was Bobyck who knocked out a football player out front of the SAE house and he banged his head on the sidewalk when he fell and had some pretty serious injuries. We had an all campus party at ATO one night and a few from the Football team were acting like jackasses throwing beer all over and me and a couple guys were having a discussion with a couple players that we were friends with and telling them they should probably leave when another player joined the discussion and then out of no where he head butts my buddy. I grabbed him and ran him 7 or 8 steps backward into the bar and next thing I know my head is ringing as the guy with the nickname "psycho" suckered me from the side right in the ear. Good times, lesson learned, never get into a fight in the middle of a dark basement when you don't know who is who with music blaring and probably 150 people over firecode. Saw that guy later sued the University and the NCAA due to concussions. Quote

Didn't see them at many house parties, granted we were in very different social circles lol. Quote

Not knocking Dane, but if build a house and it's declared condemned, why would you use the #2 in charge of the same company to rebuild you another house, and expect something different. My point being, did they even put out any feelers????? If not, and they lose Sascha, I'll be the first to start up the fire Chavez and Dane thread. Number one on the checklist is to keep your top guy 1 Quote

James is a player who has gotten progressively better each season so I expect a very good senior year. He is also has speed, something I felt the team overall was lacking. 5 Quote

The point of firing coaches used to be about making players uncomfortable. Dane's hiring keeps them feeling good about who they are, are we really better? I'd prefer a team that hasn't seen the frozen 4 in 9 or 10 years play uncomfortable; we'll see. 1 1 Quote
90siouxfan Posted Sunday at 10:04 PM Posted Sunday at 10:04 PM Lots of assumptions that players decided the coach, intriguing coincidence... Quote

If Jackson has success running this program, it won't matter how he got the job. If Jackson doesn't have success running this program, then Chaves can start updating his resume. 1 Quote
