...and wasn't he supposed to be super close with his sister?   A lot closer traveling to Grand Forks from Winnipeg.   Oh well, he has to do what he thinks is best for his life and career.

If I've learned any lesson from Boisvert & Perron, it's to not put any stock in anything a player says. Boisvert in an interview just earlier this year was saying how it was his dream to win a championship for UND & have his name on the wall. And with Perron, his mother stated in an interview that as soon as he visited REA he loved what he saw & knew that UND was his team. Fast forward to today & both of them can't wait to get out of North Dakota.

Maybe they didn't envision the dumpster fire that's currently ongoing.  Boisvert also apparently made a statement to teammates/friends prior to Berry's release, that if Berry was let go, he was going to transfer out.  If he had a strong relationship with Brad and felt he got screwed over (right or wrong), it's hard to blame him.  I just figured with likely only one more year of college hockey expected, he'd ride it out here, but if the speculation about wanting to be closer to family so they can see some games is true, well, I get that too.  I don't so much understand any participation in a frat donnybrook.

Well, they’re young and have had a few drinks. You never know it was said and you don’t know what happened prior to the incident. Hell I remember 45 years ago, it didn’t take much.

The Frattin season against UM hit me harder than 0.6.

100%, 0.6 was the inferior team(That all the sudden looked superior that night). The 2011 team was one of the greatest college hockey teams assembled. I just wish I could go back in time and watch that season again.

But both were from places or respectable circumstance.... they hurt and stung but.... this is just an embarrassing laughingstock.

I'd rather have a painful outcome in a distinguished respectable game than the watching people flee a burning dumpster.

We just needed 1 for Ralph South to erupt that day. Instead their annoying school song was the only one the band knew. Then we got Hunwicked.

Who knows, we may see some more movement on this with current players, but hopefully the rest of these boys are committed after yesterday (Black Monday).
Working from the back to the front:

Still need at least one goalie, assuming Huson stays on.  Does Heil come in or does he go back to the USHL for another year?

That d-corps is legit, probably one of the best --if not the best-- in the NCHC.  Still need one more though, would rather go recruit than portal...if so, is Lindberg ready or do we bring in a talented CHL kid?  Only reason to go portal is if they're worried about Zmolek being 100% so they want some more experience to get a good SR guy.

Forward group is still light of course but the thing that pops out at me is that the vast majority of them are skaters.  Guys like Strinden, James, Littler, Croal...even Andrew in the limited time that we saw him...they hustle, move, and bring energy.  Some of the 'slowness' of our departing class will be gone.  James took a monster step as a JR, another jump from him and Strinden would be huge as the two forward SR leaders.  Swanson can dish the puck, Zellers & Zakreski can for sure bury it.  Very interested to see how those two adapt to the college game.  They'll certainly get some playing time.  Still need at least 6 forwards...hoping for a mix of CHL & portal...maybe even a JR or two from the portal to even out the classes a bit.  Some centers would be nice.

Forwards (9):
SR - Strinden, James
JR -
SO - Swanson, Littler, Croal, Andrew
FR - Zellers, Klee, Zakreski

Defense (8):
SR -
JR - Zmolek, Livanavage, Wiebe, Komzak
SO - Emery, Strathmann, Jubenvill
FR - Laurila

Goalies (2):
SR -
JR - Hedquist
SO -
FR - Huson (RS)

There's also a moderately big difference between bringing in a 2004 out of the CHL versus bringing in a 2007 like Cole Reschny, Ben Kindel, or Gavin McKenna. Interested to see who/how Jackson approaches with the recruiting strategy, especially since most of the older CHLers are committed or have already signed pro deals, while the younger CHLers aren't showing their hand &/or might be trying to sign after being drafted & thus bypass the NCAA. Over the next several months, should be able to get at least 5 commits out of the CHL, the Dub specifically, who we can stagger their entries to UND as needed.

So what's your educated guess as to where UND will get most of their needed forwards for next year if, as you say, most of the older CHLers are already committed? Will UND need to go on a raiding party into the AHA for a bunch of Carter Wilke clones?
