KEM quote on NIL and us not always getting the likes of McKenna or Martone were spot on

I think Martone was 100% bought in at State despite the high NIL number. He would have fit in well at North Dakota. McKenna just wasn't going to be a fit based on price & his approach.

Agree with KEM for the most part as well.

Nothing tops a Halloween game at UND.

For that one, I wore a ref shirt, dark sunglasses, a red-tipped cane, and used a toy/stuffed dog that "led" me around.  Way too many people cleared way for me, so soon I dropped the cane.

In an 80's haze, I remember seeing a girl wearing a grass skirt, and asking her if I could mow her skirt.  She didn't take me up on the offer.

Oh... and the hockey was great too.  Goalies were badly mismatched vs shooters in the 1980's.

Thanks for posting!

Some more games between Sioux and Bucky.

"Sioux's a girl's name" chant from the Kohl Center. Those were the days.

I was at this game. Next season they made a rule that you couldn't be under .500 and make the tournament as an at large. That was a heckuva atmosphere.

Came close to checking the box we care the most about. If Jax and Co. can build a team with this limited amount of time and take us to the F4, I think it’s reasonable that we will be back. Thank you seniors for the memories and best wishes for those who paved the way and made this year a special year.

Overall, the season was a success.  More so than anyone would have thought last April.

To come into the FF and get pushed around and shut down by UW though, that was plain ugly.  Leaves a very bad taste, especially after Jax talked in articles about focusing in and leaving everything on the table.  Boys never made a serious push for the whole game.

I could see 5 defensemen leaving

Jubenvill to the portal, Livanavage and Wiebe sign pro, Zmolek retires if he doesn't apply for another year of eligibility. That's 4 I could see

The D3 guy, Engel I don't see staying. Roster limits will be voted on in Florida this year.

Engel stays if he thinks he can't find a D1 spot elsewhere. He was months away from playing D3 if North Dakota didn't take him. Wonder if he's fine staying around as a mostly practice player

If I have this right ...

Hak took his first team to a national title game loss, and never got that far again.

Berry took his first team to a national title, and never got that far again.

Jax took his first team to a national semifinal loss.

C'mon, break the streak!

Gino took his 1st team to a championship loss, followed up with a natty the next season.

Sucks that the season ended with what looked like a subpar effort but man was it fun to be playing the final weekend again.  Lots of good moments from this season; no reason not to be optimistic for next year.
