brianvf Posted December 13 Posted December 13 Strathmann showed his breakaway skills last week on his goal. Quote It is becoming clear that freshman defenseman Andrew Strathmann is the top shootout man on this year's UND hockey team. Strathmann won his third weekly shootout competition Thursday in Ralph Engelstad Arena. He's only participated in seven this season due to injury. Other scorers Thursday were Tanner Komzak, Jake Schmaltz, Dillon Simpson and Dane Jackson. Schmaltz has won two shootouts this season and also has been effective in the shootout. Goaltenders T.J. Semptimphelter and Hobie Hedquist have not yet officially won a shootout this season, but they've been as good as any goalie tandem in recent years at limiting scorers. Quote
datameisterq Posted December 13 Posted December 13 I put the home equity credit line on SCSU to win tonight. My intent is to get in on the NIL Collective. 1 Quote

And yet Hak was skewered again for not getting that team to the Frozen Four. He was a miracle worker with the lineup that season and I never heard a complaint about the injuries as they piled up. 2 Quote

That team getting a 1 seed, and winning a game against a good Western Michigan team in the NCAA's before they lost to Minnesota is mind boggling. Probably my favorite UND team of all time due to the hand they were dealt. That group burned the damn ships alright..... 2 Quote

That team should not have made it to what was the national quarterfinals. Quote

AlphaMikeFoxtrot Posted December 13 Posted December 13 Not for nothing, that team won the Final Five in the last game with Sioux jerseys. 1 3 Quote

Attended UND for seven years (separated by 14 years), and the team never got a sniff of an NCAA tournament win during those years. “Old School” fans saw a lot of bad Sioux hockey too. 2 Quote

Berg is an important piece. Zmolek would be huge, but it looks like he is unlikely to return. Quote

Minnesota was flat out better than us that year, remember not even being mad after they got knocked out(only time in my 37 years of watching UND). That team got every ounce of talent out of their group and made some incredible memories along the way. I remember they wore the 'North Dakota' jersey for the first time at that regional vs WMU and the Gophers and thinking that was the reason we didn't get to the Frozen Four, they took away our logo. I think UND would have made the Frozen Four had they not had to play MN in a rematch from the week before. I always hated that about the NCAA hockey tournament. Do you ever see Duke and North Carolina in the same bracket in men’s basketball? Of course not. Quote
