In true fashion of UND coaches that start with Bu, Friday will be the shellacking that those pencils dinks deserve...   followed by a saturday night P.U. event where mites are shaking their heads in disgust....

So Friday Sizzle followed by Saturday Fizzle?

Always like the matchups more against teams that have talent, play exciting styles of hockey (MN, DU, BU, ect). UND seems to fair better against those teams. It's the teams that are loaded with 21-year-old FR and play a garbage style (ex: Bemidji / Mankato) that I worry about.

Think they split, which would be a fine result.

In its last 6 games, BU has given up a shyt-ton of goals (average of something like 4.5).  Nobody has scored more than 2 against DU yet this season.   But, as many have pointed out, DU's competition has been mediocre.  As many have also been saying (over and over), however, UND plays like garbage most of the time, with limited and misleading stretches of competency.  Can they beat DU?   I suppose it is theoretically possible.  It would help if UND were a religious school.

Sweeping UMD was nice & all, but they're probably going to be neighbors with Miami in the NCHC this year, so wise not to get too big-headed after doing well against them. DU is a whole other beast. Carle has his team consistently clicking on all cylinders, whereas Berry gets sporadic flashes of greatness from his players, with extended lulls of uninspiring hockey. Consistency is why DU is undefeated, & the lack of it is why UND is treading water. But with DU in town, the boys will probably be dialed in for most of the weekend ... but who knows with this team. Cannot afford anything less than a spliteroooski.

Update on my kidney stone situation: I had the post-surgical stent removed yesterday. I am starting to feel normal again after 3+ weeks. Thank you again for all the well-wishes. I may not agree with all of you on things, but the vast majority of you are great people who love UND as much as I do. I am looking forward to the games this weekend.

Good to hear, and welcome back.   I assume you've been passing some debris pieces since the removal?

I  was not real clear in my laugh a minute routine,  the BU reference was a jab at coaches currently at UND that only have fleeting moments of quality entertainment for the masses.  I will refrain from such humor as punishment.

No, please don’t turn literal on us; we get enough of that.  Satire, irony, nuance— all forms of indirect humor or sarcasm are refreshing and welcome.

No they're not.

I should have specified good satire.   I freely admit to a lot of bad satire, which is not worth anyone's time unless they have too much of it.

Does anyone else who live outside of ND and have to resort to watching the games on tv look forward to home series as you know your going to get the top quality video feed? It’s like night and day difference when it’s a UND home game

Definitely.   Others are improving, though.   Inexperienced camera work used to be the norm, and poor camera work in hockey can make the game unwatchable.  The clumsy production work like we saw last weekend in Duluth is not as bothersome.

I lived in hockey starved areas of the country 35-45 years ago, and following the Sioux used to mean finding a newspaper (actual, in-your-hands paper) that provided scores and stats or, in some cases, phone calls.   No world wide web, and hockey had just not gotten to some cities and areas of the country.   We are spoiled now big time.
