I will say that leadership and direction from the coaching staff is critical in developing a winning culture. Players leave every 2 to 5 years no matter what, and new players come in. It is even more frequent now in the era of the transfer portal.

The one constant is the coaching staff, and I think developing and maintaining a winning accountable culture is significantly dependent on the head coach and his actions and message.

And Bubba has replaced every coach on his staff at least once, some twice.....the only remaining constant is Kyle "Bubba" Schweigert

Was the game on ESPN Plus?  I can’t find it?  Wasn’t able to watch it live.

Yes it was, watched live.

Once bubba is gone it will take 5 years to get a program to where it needs to be

No it will not. Bubba took the Muss mess and had a very good team in year 2. Seeded in the playoffs year 3.

Bubba looks like he needs a CPAP so he sleeps at night.

I've used a CPAP since 2017. Makes a world of difference. Coaching issues aside, it's a serious health issue. Reggie White died of sleep apnea complications.

On my third machine. Godsend.

I just don’t know who we’d hire, not that that’s my job but I am interested in potential targets. I know Todd Hoffner is a popular name but he’s almost as old as Bubba. I’d prefer a young up and comer. I mean I think I’ve been clear that my top vote would be Danny but not sure that would be super popular. Otherwise, we need fresh blood.

No local names.  Open it up and see who applies.  If the local guy is best, fine.

Maybe Football 360 is a big part of the problem,  do other football programs have a cheer squad for the coach?

Those guys do a nice job with a podcast to generate interest and support of the program. Although they don’t take a negative public stance, you are mistaken if you don’t think they are frustrated and upset with our lack of success over the past 10yrs.

To bash the our athletic programs publicly hurts our program and subsequently can adversely affect recruiting, and support both financially and otherwise. That isn’t the purpose of their podcast.

And staying positive about a dumpster fire has accomplished what?

willfully ignoring the elephant in the room is also detrimental

I’m referring to the 360 podcast. They have a following that allows those who are interested in UND FB to learn more about the program and to get an insight from someone who excelled at every sport he played and played at UND. He has connections that most of us don’t. His criticism of the program will likely remain private.

I have no issue with those who want to publicly criticize. In my experience, the public bashing, personal insults etc. get people nowhere. However, I don’t think we should expect the same type of criticism from their program.

I can promise you these guys aren’t ignoring the elephant in the room. They just aren’t going use their podcast to communicate with the decision makers.

Also, Kelly has been critical on the 360 account before and had a really good post yesterday, basically saying there isn’t much to say at this point
