It could’ve been a “leave no doubt” game if we bury a couple chances in the second. But a learning experience: don’t let the other guy hang around.

Sorry about your boys, gfhockey.  ;)
I'm guessing UMD will come out stronger tomorrow, they got better as the game went on, but UND still controlled play for the most part...just couldn't put the dagger in until less than a minute left.

Hard to place to sweep, but hopefully the guys finish more of their chances tomorrow.

Need to sweep on the road vs Duluth tomorrow to make up for not getting the sweep at home vs Mankato.

This comment is a little out of frustration.  The Sioux made it interesting but it should not have been a nail-biting game.  They get the lead and then fail to shut the door.  They let the bulldogs hang around and did not handle the tight checking and pressure.  It gave the Bulldog goalie renewed confidence for the game on Saturday.  However, congratulations to the team on their first NCHC win tonight.  Now get the second win tomorrow.

Standard UMD game. Outskilled but clog things up to keep it close and hope for a bounce or two.

Sometimes I feel Sandelin has Berry’s number.

If often seems like they do get the bounce. I remember watching UMD play in 2018 when they won their second natty and they won each of their last 4 games by one goal. Keep it close get a bounce. Rinse and repeat.

I didn't think much of UMD's forwards tonight.  Our D bottled them up pretty good for most of the night...their second goal came off a deflection right to their guy on the doorstep of the UND net.  Sioux made a nice play to get the puck out of the zone against the extra attacker, drawing the final UMD penalty.  Nice job boys, finish the job tomorrow!

Yeah, and it was a turnover/bad pass by Spicer that lead directly to the goal.

Oh snap. ;)

Spicer and Loney had a great night in the faceoff circle though, they went a combined 21-11 in the dot.
