They tried with FCS all-American Malachi Buckner but the defense is too complicated for the safeties to quickly learn … typical b.s. and baggage this 3-4 system has always had

well 4 possessions by SIU (77 TD, 62 FG, 68 TD, 75 TD) and UND won the time of possession battle in the first half.  What does that tell you?

We have rarely used the portal for much. Pretty much every team we have played have atleast one FBS drop down if not more, and I can't really remember any for us, or impactful ones atleast. I think a QB a few years back?

Defense needs an attitude adjustment in the locker room

Watched first half, we are the slower team by far. Especially on defense. We had some chances for 3rd down stops and did not finish. Offensively we do not have that dynamic player that can scare their defense. Our young linemen are not getting a push. Hopefully we make solid second half adjustments like last year and put ourselves in position to win.

what's the word on why they all left?  It's killing us.  Robertson isn't even seeing the field but said there were other reasons he left.

Right.  It takes 3 years to learn our system.....meanwhile top FBS programs across the nation plug and play freshman every week.

I have no idea but is it really that hard to learn?

Well at least we held them to a FG on one possession. They’ve made it very difficult for SIU offensive coaches to make any adjustments since everything is working.

That’s fair. But 5-6 or 4-7 is probably still okay for Chaves, as long as hockey is out in Vegas and giving people something to do and travel to in March/April.

To be fair, with Freund, UND could still win this game, but the defense needs to obviously wake up and make some plays.
