Mario gonna put on crabby-face and skate 'em today?

Mandan had a good 5-6 minute stretch in the 1st to go up 3-0 taking advantage of some defensive lapses and they have 2 really good goalies.  Legacy wore them down, SOG were 19-3 in the 3rd.  Bad turnover in OT cost 'em, but Mandan is going to be tough in the WDA.

Sheyenne must be for real.  Nice win over the Spartans.

Friday night on the girls side, surprised CHS took Davies to OT.   Also Williston over GF 2-1.  SOG favored GF 27-12, Willy must have a tendy.  WF and Mandan on Saturday should be a great game and I think 2 of the best teams in the state.  A lot of "new" on the girls side this season, will take some time to see which teams rise up.

Mandan girls with an eye popping win over a pre-season state favorite in WF.  GF girls and Minot go 0-0 and to a shootout.  LHS boys with 3rd OT loss in 5 games.  Busy week coming up for HS hockey in ND.

Saturday Boys final:

Bismarck Legacy 2

Fargo Davies  3  OT. Final

I was at the game.

Was a good HS game.  OT hockey, good back and forth.

Some Tuesday night games to keep an eye on: out west, Minot and CHS.  East side: GFC and Sheyenne, RR and North.  Girls side…the restructured North and Davies teams go tonight.

Central got shutout by Sheyenne? The days of high school hockey being relevant are numbered.  Even Moorhead isn't quality enough for kids to stay.  They lost their top stars also and are way down

They did beat Roseau last night 5-1. Weakest section in the state.

To your point though they did lost 3 defenseman. IIRC 2 to Juniors and 1 to US development team. Their goalie is really good.

The one star forward is on the Force now.  Kind of stinks for HS hockey but it makes sense for the player if they are going to play quality mins in the USHL.

Yeah more and more kids are leaving and going to leave.  As for Bentz, if you're getting great minutes with the Force it's hard to turn that down.

He was supposed to be a SR this year? Is he committed anywhere?

Yes he's a SR in HS.  He's not committed but I know there's plenty of schools recruiting him, including NCHC (not sure on UND).  Ironically enough, in relation to the conversation about players leaving ND, he played in Bismarck through his PW year as did his cousin Kai who is the goaltender in Moorhead (JR).

These are my buddies 2 sons who took nasty hits with knees up in Williston Saturday. Only one had a call for a 2 minute tripping. Both intent to injure and both have been reported. Both brothers hurt with one having a possible broken ankle and the other with possible torn ligaments in knee

Those look horrendous.

Is supplemental discipline even a possibility in ND high school league?

Hope those boys are ok.

The older brother who is a senior should be ok but the younger brother who is a sophomore is out for at least 4 weeks if not longer. The refs need to be disciplined too. To only have one 2 minute tripping penalty in one of those vids is asinine

Are we on the cusp of video review in HS sports?  Scary thought.

In this instance if better be reviewed and something done to both players and the refs

I watched a player take out the knee of the oppositions best player and laughed about it on the bench. Player missed 3/4 of season.  Being it was at a preseason jamboree made it even more frustrating.
