So Grand Forks giving up everything is what's best for the state as a whole? That is pure NDSU-branded horse manure. Fargo is better for football. Grand Forks is better for hockey. The small school basketball tournaments probably belong out west. The large school basketball tournaments probably belong in the east. Couldn't write a better story than Olsonawski with what his family went through. Regarding the Fargo/GF thing...As a fan, I've always favored Fargo. My son was in Fargo last year and GF this year with the Sabers and when he got home this weekend he said "I wish it was always in Grand Forks." Johnny Five Posted February 26, 2023 Share Posted February 26, 2023 Girls State tournament is set. Davies v Century: I think Davies may be playing the best hockey in the state right now. Minot v WF: Battle of 2 of the best goalies in the state. This one is a toss up. GF v North: North a better team. Have 2 real smooth FR D that are fun to watch. GF hasn’t been playing great the second part of the season but the goalie can keep them in it. Mandan v Legacy-Bismarck: Mandan swept 5-3 and 6-1 early. L'B playing well the past month. Should be a competitive game but the Braves get an edge. It's gonna be tough to beat the boys tournament, but the way the girls season has gone it could certainly happen.
