Ford has already committed to an NCHC school.

I feel like half of these guys have things lined up before it becomes public.

I'm guessing Miami

File under the category of "Hockey is a funny game":

The guys you don't remember are the ones who played a solid game. Normally when you remember a defenseman it's because of a mistake. Goalie? That spectacular save is because they were scrambling because they weren't square.

Or because they're about 5'6" in the case of a certain Sioux goalie ;)

Dam, this will be an interesting off season.

A few teams could really benefit from this if they have a good "portal" incoming class.  Adding a few NCAA experienced players on top of a good freshmen class could really bolster some team's chances next year.
Very interesting off season, for sure.

Sam Rossini entering the transfer pool

Bob cleaning house?

He was already senior and had only played 7 games combined the last two seasons.
Probably just wanted more playing time in a new environment.

A tidbit here is that the school can offer extra scholarships than the 18 maximum to 5th year players that stay at the same school. Tuition waivers, TA roles and departmental scholarships can hopefully help out with this over the next 4 years. Assuming we have anyone play extra years. Senden is hopefully interested.

Per Schloss, teams must remain at current funding and scholarship levels. That comes from Chaves.

As far as direct funding from Athletics, yes.

But if one of the players qualifies and earns a non-athletic scholarship and is a "Covid-year", that works.

Normally non-athletic scholarships count against the NCAA total, but that is waived for the Covid-extra-year players.

The last time UND has been this decimated in an offseason was 2011, when it lost six of its top seven scorers (Matt Frattin, Jason Gregoire, Evan Trupp, Brad Malone, Chay Genoway and Brett Hextall). The next year wasn't easy, but that 2011-12 team ended up winning the Final Five and getting a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament.

So you're telling me there's a chance.  ;)

Not sure how it is now, but during the oil boom they were handing them out like candy on Halloween.
