I bet a lot of people would love to rent a boat/pontoon from there.

If you ever been to Itasca State Park. They have a similar rental shop that is always busy.

The proposed $300+ million gf sales tax, they should take some and build a real building and rent stuff year round.

they would love to rent from there........but never open...kinda hard to find.....

said this before......move most those canoes and whatnot to lincoln golf course clubhouse...rent stuff there and launch behind the clubhouse......use the current and it takes you to the downtown dock (behind joe blacks) (the the smaller boathouse that would still have a few canoes an whatnot) and then every few hours a bus or something runs you back to lincoln and your car....simple (another one of my great ideas sicatoka!)

another good idea for downtown from me....

remove the rest of the swinging railroad bridge stuff in front of the blue moose on the red river and then put a circle of metal around the perimeter to create a firepit.

couple times a year load up driftwood from the greenway (crane, rope, catapult em up there) and have a huge bonfire in the middle of red at dusk......and to light it have an eagle eyed archer shoot a flaming arrow from the sorlie bridge and boom FIRE.

I see some empty malls are being converted to pickle ball courts

would be good for the winter months in grand forks

why does the Minot mall get expanded and GF is mostly empty

Because there is nothing to do in Minot and no where else to shop, these malls owe Scheels for keeping them alive

on the same day as the heraldo published this article about the city of GF getting stuff done back in they day (u want a paddle boat?  90 days later they got a paddle boat!!) they also published this

https://www.grandforksherald.com/business/grand-forks-region-edc-hires-new-workforce-development-specialist

"development specialist".............hope she gets a free food truck too........

Hope so too!   Pete got a grant for the Food Truck - rented it out for several years before Steers owner Elias Dean eventually bought it to serve as a remote option for his brick and mortar restaurant that he started from scratch working his a** off so now he has options - problem with that?

That food truck didn't cost GF taxpayers one dime.   Stop acting like that was some big "LIBERAL" give-away - it was not!  It worked out exactly like it was intended to do...and Elias has a great thing going with the food truck and Chino Latino.  Bitching about every little thing does NOTHING for the greater good - DOING is the key and here it is.

gotta job for the amateur structural engineers in GF....go check out the new building across the street from city hall....go peek down the east of the buidling (the side facing the hub pub/alley).....tell me that wall isn't crooked.  Maybe it's supposed to be that way i don't know but seems odd that it starts straight....veers inward a little...that goes back out....

am i seeing things...could that be by design.

just curious.

You are correct. Can confirm that is by design.

You should see the foundation plan of my house: longest straight basement wall is sixteen feet. A two foot bump or jut here and there. Those strengthen the overall structure.

go look at it...not a bump out of jut....just goes in at an angle a little then back out.

what's the reasoning behind that?

My guess: Same as my basement -- long straight walls are not as strong as a wall with some "breaks" in it (effectively a series of smaller, stronger walls).

can stores that cater to one thing make it today...the soap place by lowes, crumbl cookie, and this one going up downtown next to bonzers?

Red Pepper has served bland tasteless "mexican" food to stupid drunk scandanavians for decades and convinced them somehow it's LEGENDARY!   That being said - had a garbage plate or two back in the day that AT THE TIME was EXCELLENT but that's beside the point.

There does seem to be a niche for these type of businesses...biggest question is will the Pepper start selling cookies now?

Not in Grand Forks, Crumbl is looking to hire 70 employees!
