Descartes Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 (edited) Apparently Michael sold it. But to who? Edited November 18, 2015 by Descartes Grammar Quote
SiouxFanatic Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 Maplesoft Hawks, which is a children's hockey program. Link: http://maplesofthawks.com/ Quote
The Sicatoka Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 Maplesoft* for their youth hockey in Ontario. http://maplesofthawks.com/So, no, that will not be UND's logo.Next question. *Yes, the Canadian software giant, maker of mathematical and analytical software. That Maplesoft. Quote
Descartes Posted November 18, 2015 Author Posted November 18, 2015 (edited) Well, I was under the impression that he still owned it till recent. After all, his post was on Nov 1st 2015. I figured he finally sold it, meaning the Maplesofthawks (which I have been aware of for quite some time since icethetics posted an article) were using the logo, but didn't own the rights. So he sold them recently.Anyone got a link saying, Mike sold the logo to "X"? Edited November 18, 2015 by Descartes Grammar Quote
The Sicatoka Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 It's here in one of the threads in this forum. Quote
The Sicatoka Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 I'm pretty sure either jdub27 or 1982SiouxFan posted it. Maybe Teeder11. (No guarantee.) Quote
Descartes Posted November 18, 2015 Author Posted November 18, 2015 I have inserted myself into the Matrix, like Lenny from The Lawnmower Man and/or Johnny Depp from Transcendence. I got it. Thanks. Quote
geaux_sioux Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 Who owns that logo could't be more irrelevant, it was never going to be our logo and our logo will look nothing like that. 4 Quote
CMSioux Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 This time a million - not even close to the process that will be required for logo development plus who made the judgement that logo is even acceptable - I think it's ugly. Quote
choyt3 Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 Who owns that logo could't be more irrelevant, it was never going to be our logo and our logo will look nothing like that.I predict a few reactions like this when some of these people figure that out. Quote
The Sicatoka Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 My prediction: This will will be morphed into a geometric bird. Quote
Cratter Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 (edited) What a perfect time to start vetting the names. As I've said before, and I'll say again, at least with Roughriders you had a quasi History & Tradition built in that one could incorporate. Now, we must start anew. And by new, I mean copy all the other Hawk stuff out there.Seattle Seahawks has the "Hawks Nest" and probably 50 others, I'll count down the days til UND uses it. Cratter Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 That reminds me of this:Let the record show I was the first to use the Fighting Hawks hand signal.I'm sure its been done a thousand times by the thousand hawk and eagles teams. Also counting down the days til this is used by UND... 1 Quote
dagies Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 My prediction: This will will be morphed into a geometric bird. You know my philosophy on logos, so that might actually work ok (IMO) Quote
