FSSD Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 Wait, so the second place team in the lowly Big Sky got a 13 seed (#53 overall) while the almighty Summit co-champion got a 15 seed (#62 overall)? That just can't be right, someone alert the authorities!! Congrats to EWU, had one or two big wins this year and should have had a couple more. Earn an extra share or two from the conference. Come on the Big Sky is garbage - they only have two teams ranked in the Mid Major poll (EWU 18, Sac St 21 and Montana RV (26th). No bad company for conferences with multiple teams ranked... Big Bad Mid Major Conference Summit League - ZERO!!! West Coast - 3 teams ranked MAC - 3 teams ranked Missouri Valley - 2 teams ranked Ohio Valley - 2 teams ranked Ivy - 2 teams ranked Horizon - 2 teams ranked Southland - 2 teams ranked Big Sky - 2 teams ranked http://www.collegeinsider.com/mens-mid-major-top-25.php Quote
jdub27 Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 Before slamming NDSU on a seed....at least they got one.Congrats to them on that. I wish UND was dancing but I'm talking Big Sky vs Summit. I'm well aware both are one bid conferences and who the representatives are. Just seems so odd after hearing how the whole Big Sky conference is no good and even the top teams would be middle of the road in the Summit. 1 Quote
darell1976 Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 Is anyone else tired of the play-in games? You win your conference and you are not an official 16 seed until you play another game prior to the NCAA Tournament (ex. Robert Morris, N. Florida). 2 Quote

CMSioux Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 All the majority here have ever said is that when comparing the Big Sky to the Slummit as far as which is better it is pretty darn close and varies from year to year - they are both lower mid-majors and one bid conferences. So when things flip flop it's fun to poke the bi-son. Remember what site you are on. Quote
bincitysioux Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 SDSU and Montana were automatic qualifiers to the NIT. Montana is a 7 seed and will play Texas A&M. SDSU is an 8 seed and plays Colorado St. Quote
darell1976 Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 Remember what site you are on. Except in the football forum where you say something negative about a Bison player then you get ripped on. I guess I forgot what site I am on. Quote
bincitysioux Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 Sac St. lands in the CIT, will play Portland. Quote
homer Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 NDSU was a 12 last year, settle down So what your saying is some years the Summit is better than others and the conferences vary from year to year. Different argument than last year. 3 Quote

Those polls only matter when it reflects favorably on NDSU. Aside from that, a "mid-major poll" shouldn't even be a thing. Where's the "best of the lousiest" poll? Or the "best if the rest" poll? bincitysioux Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 MSU-Moorhead is going to the DII Elite 8. Safe to say that UND is at the very most, just the 3rd best college basketball program in the Red River Valley...... 1 Quote

FSSD Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 Hey guys, I am a big college basketball fan and I understand why many are frustrated with the current state of things at UND. But, please don't turn every thread into bash the program and Jones thread. There are threads for that topic already. thanks... 2 Quote
MafiaMan Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 Gonzaga gets love every year and then chokes. Anyone else remember the "player of the year," Mr Crunch-Time himself, Adam Morrison, crying in the huddle at the end of the UCLA game? A potential game-winning shot being drawn-up on the clipboard by the coach with a couple of seconds left...and there's his team's leader already peeing his pants. The Bulldogs shart themselves again this year. Just have the popcorn ready for the meltdown. Quote
Hayduke Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 I have Notre Dame vs Arizona and Northern Iowa vs Gonzaga in my Final Four with Gonzaga over Notre Dame in the championship. I have Wyoming pulling the first round upset of Northern Iowa. Just because... Go Pokes!! Quote
