Westside Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 Obviously, 2 games in Fargo is not ideal, but I'm just glad the rivalry is being renewed. As a UND student back in tha day my favorite days of the year were always Sioux-Bisen football, SpringFest & Sioux-Gophers hockey (in that order). Glad to see that Sioux-Bisen experience is being brought back for the program, students, fans & alumni. Just a thought... Realistically, UND will be a big underdog in that 2015 game. But, what IF, just IF... UND knocks off the mighty bisen that first game??? The ol' bisen faithful gotta sit & stew over that til 2019. Nothing would be better! That's why they play game...
Blackheart Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 Bison fan here. Serious question, will the NCAA agreement in anyway keep from playing for the Nickel?I thought the Nickel was retired...
gfhockey Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 What's faison done for Und other then botch a nchc conference Botxh the tv deal Schedule two road games
UNDBIZ Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 Bison fan here. Serious question, will the NCAA agreement in anyway keep from playing for the Nickel? I believe items of historical significance, such as the Nickel, are ok with the nc$$. We get to keep our Sioux championship banners and that kind of stuff.
UNDBIZ Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 What's faison done for Und other then botch a nchc conference Botxh the tv deal Schedule two road games Get 'em
Oxbow6 Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 I keep reading about the "respect" UND deserves...NDSU is the 3 time defending NC and UND is coming off a stellar 3 win season. Earning respect has to start somewhere, it isn't just given...2015 is that chance.
homer Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 What's faison done for Und other then botch a nchc conference Botxh the tv deal Schedule two road games Your good ole boys who pushed for bubba to be hired better go talk to him. He approved of this deal. 2
UND-FB-FAN Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 UND will have a solid chance next season. Of course, depends how both teams perform this season too. But when looking at the rosters, UND won't lose much whereas NDSU will...
bincitysioux Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 Nobody has a bigger smile on his face today than Gene Taylor. He definitely got the last laugh.......
UND-FB-FAN Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 Nobody has a bigger smile on his face today than Gene Taylor. He definitely got the last laugh....... Not if UND wins... (Should've scheduled earlier)

Blackheart Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 buy the 2019 game outAnd that would pretty much guarantee these teams would never play again... 1
UNDColorado Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 How about the winner gets the second game at home in 2019? Now that would make this even more interesting.
The Phoenix Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 I believe items of historical significance, such as the Nickel, are ok with the nc$$. We get to keep our Sioux championship banners and that kind of stuff. But will play for it take it from "history" to current? It is an accurate depiction of a legal tender nickel, so I can't see the issue, but I am not an anti-nickname person, either.
Popular Post SooToo Posted August 22, 2014 Popular Post Posted August 22, 2014 Not if UND wins... (Should've scheduled earlier) Too bad a minority of UND fans seem unable to get by the fascination/obsession with the AC. Win against the premier teams in the Big Sky and UND will have established its credibility without accepting a one-sided deal that is an insult to the institution, its fanbase and its players. 7
Hayduke Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 I wouldn't put the Nickel Trophy on the line until a real home and home series is established. \ Keep it until the College of Home Economics signs a home and home. 2

ericpnelson Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 They better get a pretty good ticket allotment for accepting this joke. More than the half section or w/e road teams usually get. Otherwise, we shouldn't have done it.

GreenWing Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 We have an allotment of 500 with the option to bring our band and cheering section.

Win against the premier teams in the Big Sky and UND will have established its credibility without accepting a one-sided deal that is an insult to the institution, its fanbase and its players.UND-NDSU will create 10x the hype of any Big Sky game UND ever plays, even if it's for the Big Sky championship. Also, UND-NDSU affects recruiting in North Dakota and Minnesota more than the Big Sky Conference does. How about win the Big Sky Conference and beat NDSU all in the same season? That should be the goal. Obviously some have not witnessed a UND-NDSU football game in person...

The road to become the best team in ND goes through Fargo. Even if we don't win and just show that we can compete it will destroy the current aura around the NDSU program.

It is owned 50% by Blue Key at NDSU. It needs to go to Bismarck.
