82SiouxGuy Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 When he announced offer on Twitter he said "my grandparents will love this"........ Not sure if Bryan would be old enough to be a grandparent to the kid but maybe an uncle...... Or possibly father? Quote
Hambone Posted July 27, 2014 Author Posted July 27, 2014 Or possibly father? You are correct - appears Bryan is his father. Quote
sioux24/7 Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 Kid looks like a stud. Would be quite the get. Quote
darell1976 Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 UND also offered Mason Bennett, DE out of Canada. Has an offer from NDSU. No way he could have an offer from NDSU they don't care for Canadian players. 2 Quote
UND-FB-FAN Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 WR Jake Smeltzer is a three-star recruit with several offers; hopefully the UND family connections work out! He would be a great addition to the 2015 recruiting class. Quote
UND Fan Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 UND with a couple offers in Wisonsin. First to safety Jaxon Brown out of Eau Claire Regis, second to TE/DE Cole Karcz out of Germantown. Brown has offers from NDSU, SDSU and Fordham while Karcz has offers from NDSU and USD. Brown has verballed to the Bison. Quote
Hambone Posted July 29, 2014 Author Posted July 29, 2014 Jack Darnell commited to NDSU and Adam Buirge commited to Northern Illinois. Quote
Matt Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 Per Dom Izzo, UND offeree Ty Brooks from Fargo South has verballed to the ac. Quote
UND92,96 Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 Sounds like Grady from New Town has committed to UND. Quote
UND Fan Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 Sounds like Grady from New Town has committed to UND. 92,96 - what can I use for the "source" of the Grady commitment on Wiki? Quote
UND Fan Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 SU is off to a great start - they have gotten some very talented kids thus far! Unfortunately, we wanted some of them! Quote
jdub27 Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 92,96 - what can I use for the "source" of the Grady commitment on Wiki? WDAZ reported it tonight as well. Believe his only other offer was NDSU. Quote
UND-FB-FAN Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 NDSU is killing 2015 recruiting this far. I hate that football program… Quote
geaux_sioux Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 NDSU is killing 2015 recruiting this far. I hate that football program… It's pretty easy to recruit in their situation. The challenge for them will be developing that talent and mostly keeping complacency at bay. Quote
Dagger Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 WDAZ reported it tonight as well. Believe his only other offer was NDSU. Nice to see a recruit picked UND over NDSU. It is a start. Hopefully that is a situation that keeps happening in the future. Keep it going Bubba. Quote
UND-1 Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 Elijah Grady chose his dads alma mater und. Und offered a full ride and ndsu was offering a partial. He said ndsu was not interested in matching unds offer ^^^^ SamsRams/Bisonation guy just cannot help himself. He had to go out of his way to explain every factor possible that led Grady to choose UND. They just won three national championships and he is that paranoid about losing one recruit to UND - sad he had to go that far in his explanation. Probably drives a big truck, too. The fact is UND offered a full and NDSU offered 80%. So UND offered around $15,000 (roughly) and then NDSU offered $12,000. Well worth the $3,000 to get his verbal. Kid is going to be a stud. Quote

Nodak78 Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 Kid is going to be a stud. I heard the same thing from someone who know him and his father. A good get for UND. Quote

They get a little butthurt if they lose out to their rival, of course UND has never out recruited the Bison. (Saying it without laughing...nope couldn't do it. LOL) Quote

(Saying it without laughing...nope couldn't do it. LOL) UND obviously loses way more players than they are getting vs. NDSU. That needs to change for them to turn it around. Getting more ND kids will be a good start. Then, hopefully they can win more games and slowly reach some more players. Going to a long road but hopefully the coaches can turn it around. Quote

When the Bison come back down to earth and join the likes of SDSU or SIU the recruiting won't be a landslide for them, especially when UND starts winning again. Quote

You'd think fans of a team coming off 3 straight championships wouldn't have such an inferiority complex. Sad that they immediately contact the kid to see why he choose UND over NDSU. Don't see them doing that for other schools. Also they never bring up what other offers from them or other schools are partials vs. fulls. Had no problem talking with the kid and reporting his NDSU offer when he got it, not a mention of how much it was. Only took him an hour or two to come up with it after he made his decision. Real surprising that the faithful are leaving it at only being a "partial" and didn't disclose that the partial was actually an 80% scholarship. Kid is going to be a stud. I heard the same thing from someone who know him and his father. A good get for UND. Plays basketball and I believe is a Golden Gloves boxer. Excited to see him in green and white. Quote
