I'd look at who is the Chairman of the NCAA Division I men’s ice hockey committee. That happens to be Tom Nevala, Notre Dame associate athletic director. I'm sure he pushed for Notre Dame hosting a regional and he didn't want to be shown up by North Dakota when more people show up to the Ralph.

Faison is on the committee also.

Scheels arena really is a good venue for a regional. Close to lots of teams in Minnesota so if god forbid UND doesn't make it it will still have a good showing.

Absolutely. A full arena looks good on TV. Some of the past regional locations cough Green Bay cough had terrible attendance.

I'm stumbling distance from the Scheels Arena so I'm happy for the host site in Fargo. But.....it would be better atmosphere-wise to have it in the Ralph...duh. I'm sure it has been brought up already but when do tickets get released for this?

So it will take about 10 mins to sell out this regional. If that happens UND can go to the NCAA and say look at the money we made and we can make more if its at the REA. Then the NCAA makes an excuse and its moved.

I wouldn't say he has been a rock star either but I think he is trying his hardest to position UND athletics to be one of the top dogs. I would rather see him take is time and get the RIGHT coach, rather than get the wrong coach and start from scratch again.

Yep, what a train wreck. Got UND into the Big Sky and through transition. Helped create a new hockey conference to keep the hockey program from being pulled down by teams with less resources. Negotiated a TV deal for UND that actually pays them money instead of costing them money. Found a home for the baseball team.
