bincitysioux
Big Sky announced a few changes after their annual meetings this week. When Idaho comes on board, men's and women's basketball will go to and 18 game conference schedule and will NOT have divisions. Volleyball will go to divisions and play 16 conference games. 6 teams will be allowed into the softball championship. The Big Sky will re-start men's golf. darell1976
http://www.bigskycon...0610132516.aspx Q&A with Doug Fullerton Some interesting questions and answers: no to splitting the league to have some go FBS and some stay FCS (if the FBS splits again), he would rather the whole BSC move up. Increased quality coming for Big Sky TV No to splitting football into two divisions and a BSC championship No conference alliance (BSC-MVFC) as Dom Izzo questioned. The only sport expansion is men's golf 2014-15 On the question of membership expansion....depends on the institution and/or the fit for a specific need

Which means means that the BSC will most likely remain FCS indefinitely. Many schools in the conference couldn't afford the expense of jumping to FBS. I wonder if some schools are having back room discussions about joining an existing FBS conference or possibly forming a new one down the road? darell1976
Its official Weber State just inked a Home and Home with NDSU. NDSU at WSU in 2014, and WSU at NDSU in 2015. Dom Izzo still thinks UND and NDSU should meet in 2015. Dom Izzo @DomIzzoWDAY 6h Feel free to start unloading but have said for a couple years 2015 would be the year #NDSU and #UND play; each team needs game #FCSFootball
bincitysioux
Montana State's men's basketball coach, Brad Huse, has resigned. Huse was the head coach at Jamestown College several years back and he had a real nice run with the Jimmies. Struggled with the Bobcats. nd1sufan
I saw it on Facebook and thought it was legit until I clicked the link. I would have been glad to take the buyout money and use it to get a legit FCS team to the Fargodome, maybe one from a good FCS conference like the Colonial or Southland. Great example of how you visit here "to add to the conversation" and "bring a different perspective" You must be due to post about "arrogance" and "remember we're better than you" today also. Nothing to talk about at Bison-swill as usual - we're playing for a national championship next week. (Now que the "it's a niche sport, no one cares post). bincitysioux
Montana St. hired Brian Fish as its new men's basketball coach. He was previously an assistant at Oregon, Creighton, and Kansas St. His base salary is $145,000 which if I recall is around $55,000 more that what North Dakota pays our head coach. Not saying Jones deserves a $55,000 raise, but the next time we are in the process of hiring a new coach whether that is a year from now or 5 years from now, the salary is going to have to go way up to stay competetive with other Big Sky programs.

SiouxVolley
Talk about butthurt at being rejected by the Big Sky. Those numbskulls still are hoping we get kicked out of the BSC as some sort of poetic justice for rejecting NDSU. http://www.bisonvill...ngs-in-GF/page2 Strange Tony hasn't thrown a party thread for Ryan Bakken's retirement. BV couldn't wrap thair noggins around that Bakken was no longer a sportswriter, but someone who wrote satire. If you joke about NDSU, its always taken seriously down in BV and it is taken to heart like a crime against the state. Ryan Bakken is equivalent to Osama down there.
