Boogieman Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 Yale absolutely beat our a$$es all over the ice. Again, Hakstol either can't or won't make in game adjustments. Quote
Oxbow6 Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 Hak totally out coached...and it was quite obvious. Quote
Sageman Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 I think Yale is better than anybody gave them credit for. Both Minny and the Sioux played like crap, but Yale carried the play for most of both games Quote
fightingsioux4life Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 This is one of the worst losses in the Hakstol era. This team was dull as a butter knife from start to finish. Preparation starts at the top and you all know who is at the top of the food chain in this program (hint: It ain't Faison). 1 Quote
MissSioux85 Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 How is Yale better than minny and us? They played a full 60 minutes and capitalized on their chances. UND and MN did not. Quote
SiouxFanatic Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 Win a fukn game that matters for once If only UND could do that. UND continuing to show they can't go all the way to win another title. Once again the clamoring for Hakstol to be fired will be bigger. Quote
clarkegs Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 ND wasn't the same team after the 10 minute goal review. Gave Yale a chance to breathe, then they took over. 1 Quote
neoflex Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 So how long are we going to stay with this Hak experiment? Seriously, this was our last chance for a while as the talent isn't going to be there next year, and he's relied on great talent over the past 8 years. I know I'm frustrated, but year in and year out he gets outcoached. The other coaches make the between period adjustments, and Hak just looked pale-faced at the end. 1 Quote
Wilbur Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 The right team won the game. Had North Dakota won it would have been a travesty for Yale. Quote
Frozen4sioux Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 Truly that was unacceptable. It's not as infuriating as losing to Minny to end a season but definitely an embarrassing performance...lots of lazy shift....passengers as the coach puts it.. Yale was a legit team but extremely beatable. Quote
7>4 Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 One of the worst efforts I have ever witnessed from a Sioux team. Just look like they played slow all game long. Maybe Gothberg's undisclosed illness was stomach flu and every one else had it too. That is the only explanation I can find for such a lifeless effort. This one really hurt. Congrats to Yale. Good luck to the seniors. When does next year start??? Quote
crb1 Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 The right team won the game. Had North Dakota won it would have been a travesty for Yale. Kind of like how Michigan beat us two years ago. Quote
best0186 Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 Typical Hackstol playoff team, what a joke. Quote
Sageman Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 Correct if I'm wrong, but couldn't Yale have been at least a 2 seed or even the 4th 1 seed if the last weekend had played out differently? Quote

The Hakstol-Hale-O'Keefe Dynasty is in charge. And unfortunately, that won't change unless we have back-to-back-to-back losing, non-playoff seasons. And with us moving into the deep and talented NCHC next year, that just might happen. Quote
crb1 Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 I have never been one to call for Coach Hak to be fired but I think some serious conversations need to be had. This is starting to become like groundhogs day. Quote
Cratter Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 One of the longest Sioux hockey droughts in history! Thanks Hak! Quote
SiouxperDave Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 Fire Hakstol!! This choke job can't be blamed on a hot goalie. I wonder how 2014 is going to end??? Quote
SiouxScore Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 Not a real crisp game at all, thought we played well in the 1st, took most of the 2nd off, and then played ok in spurts in the 3rd. Still the difference in this game tom is a couple of things. First Saunders played well most of the game but the 2nd and 3rd goal are ones that I think Zane wouldn't have gave up. Obviously disappointing we couldn't put our best lineup out there in this situation and I wonder if what was wrong with Zane whether injury or sickness will come out. The other thing is the amount of puck luck and bounces Yale got. We had 3 or 4 shots that hit the post and had a couple rolling behind the goalie as well and then the disallowed goal as well. Obviously disappointed with the outcome but I want to thank the coaching staff and players, especially the seniors for this season and all the effort and time they have put in during their time and thank them for being a part of FIGHTING SIOUX HOCKEY. yzerman19 Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 Takeaways: Passing was awful We lost most 50/50 battles Saunders showed up You can't win in post season going 0fer on the pp No scoring, let alone secondary scoring Pipes Yale out worked us on the boards End of year I did not believe that we had an NCAA champ here, but wanted to play one more weekend Quote
Jofa17 Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 If a player does not get physically ill at the prospect of losing there is no place on the team for such a player. I did not see anyone physically ill on our side ... at any point in the game! Quote
Boogieman Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 Kind of like how Michigan beat us two years ago. Yup. And in the championship game, it took Sandy about two shifts to have an adjustment for the trap that Michigan was running. Tells you something... Quote
crb1 Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 I think a serious question can be asked on why was Eades let go and Berry brought in when it seems like we have regressed? 1 Quote
