Douple actually saying this does not sound good for Augie's chances: “It’s a small school in a small state with a small alumni base with a small endowment,” Douple said on Dom Izzo’s radio show on WDAY-AM. “They have to get over that and present some added value in a media market where both SDSU and USD dominate. What is the added value and they have to sell that to our presidents.”

Sanford will leave a billion plus endowment and their phone would be ringing off the hook.

Should still say no!  They gotta pay the current conference members for the votes haha.

Know that I have been unmercillesy criticized for wanting FBS, but research data shows they it is absolutely smart, more money, higher test scores, ....  .

You have not been criticized for WANTING FBS. Youve been criticized for predicting that anyone who could swing a dead cat was going to move up. Plus you have made numerous other predictions on when such movements were going to happen which never came to fruition.  We could go on with all of your missed prognostications  all night long but why subject us to that tortuous rhetoric again..

None of them.  UST will be invited to the MVC after the transition and the Summit will be back to Augie.

UST is currently DIII and have a lot of work to do.  If they join the Summit, they’ll be there for 15 years minimum.

There are numerous examples where a recently transitioned school went to a conference that didn't accept non full DI schools.  Northern Kentucky was invited to the Horizon from the Atlantic Sun at the very first moment and has dominated Horizon basketball since.

UST needs only it's new arena to get a promotion.

Is the one bid MVC a promotion?  Not much of a promotion if you ask me.

Not very bright, are you.   The MVC has extensive tv contracts and the year that Loyola made the semifinals the MVC had like six shares that get averaged out.  Any school that has an opportunity to move to a top 10 league will do it.  Davidson is another example, going from the SoCon to the A10, which is a huge jump.

I’m going to address you, like you address others.

MVC is not top 10, are you a complete idiot and have no knowledge of college basketball whatsoever?

A10 top 10, MVC no, check any ranking.  Typically 11-13.  Loyola made a nice run and earned some money, but Creighton and Witchita are not coming back.

The MVC ranking varies every year by 4 spots or more.   The Summit ranking varies by up to 15.  The PAC12 was really bad this year for a P5, as SDiegoSU, Gonzaga, and Dayton stole their top spots.  Saying the MVC is not a top 10 league because of one ranking point just goes to show how cowbrain your thinking is.

Florida A&M has a major announcement Thursday.  Speculation is a conference move like the ASUn, Big South like Hampton and NCA&T, the SWAC or the OVC.  A&M tried FBS before with the Sunbelt, but didn't have the $"s.

My bet is the ASun and try FBS again.

So when in April does the NCAA vote on St. Thomas moving up or not?

The NCAA needs to issue a rule change  and the Summit needs to vote UST in.  Both should happen.

Book St. Thomas for a late August Pioneer League non-conference matchup and you'll pack the Alerus.

It will take a couple of seasons before the UST game would count for DI.

Pretty neat, but I don't like not having all 4 Dakota schools together.

The Flyover Conference is the smallest, by 2 schools, in the new alignment. UND and USD would fit better in that conference (academically and geographically) and bring the total to 12 teams, matching the smaller conferences in this setup. It would, however, leave the Missouri Valley too small and those schools would have to be absorbed into other conferences.

Also, Ball State would go from being in a bus conference (MAC) to the extreme eastern edge of what would be mostly a plane tflight conference, especially for them.

Sam Herder hates UND
