What’s the point of expansion when currently they are running at 70% capacity, that would be like us getting the Alerus to 20k. Makes no sense until there is SRO at every game. Also schools doing the “Eastern Michigan” technique gets spendy every year. It’s nice if a corporation buys the tickets but to have the school foot the bill like Akron....ouch!! Hopefully if the FBS splits they can cancel that attendance rule for the G5 conferences and keep the rule for the uppe tier(P5).

Coastal actually is very ambitious and has a College World Series ring to prove it.  Their volleyball and m&w soccer teams are already the class of the Sun Belt.  If one is going to build a fb program up, have to expand the stadium.

A UConn donor who has given $ 22.5 mill has told the AD they had to start men's lacrosse. ( on Twitter).

I guess I need to go out and buy a PowerBall ($229M) and a MegaMillions ($191M) stub. ;)

The land at Ray Richards golf course has just been put on hold for you!

You can cut that loose.
That won't be a stop on the Sicatoka Sky Monorail System (SSMS).

The SSMS:
East Spur (runs north/south): the parking ramps*, REA, old Med, new Med.
Central Spur (runs east/west): the parking ramps, the Chester Fritz library, Gamble/Smith station (skyway to Walsh complex), Wilkerson
West Spur: (runs east/west): Wilkerson, the Alumni Center, University Place apartments, Odegard, Ryan

*Note the plural ramps; and you'll have to walk from that station through the skyway to New Memorial Stadium to catch football or lacrosse. ;)

FB (possibly Soccer. Rugby, softball) may be on the west grounds of Ray Richards? Hospital looking at very east part. Only a narrow patch of land between UND main campus and Ray Richards.

Best place for football is next to the practice facility.  Let them practice and play games out of the same locker room for home games.  Closer to the frats and campus.

With Sam Houston St now out of the playoffs, would not surprise me if the WAC invited SW teams for FBS.

The Big West is already covered for losses, with their recent additions of UCSD and Bakersfield, which the Big West was formerly steadfastly against adding.

Notwithstanding the current sentiment on this board for creating a Great Northern Conference, doubt that the Montanas and Idaho want to join a center of the country conference when they are the center of the Big Sky Conference (perception-wise if nor geographically).

With the problems the Summit has retaining members, maybe the powers that be should hold their nose and merge with the WAC. When Bakersfield leaves the WAC and with the looming threats of Chicago State leaving the WAC and Ft Wayne leaving the Summit, both conferences will be hurting. Realize that many here want nothing to do with Grand Canyon and maybe Cal Baptist, but it may be a way for both conferences to finally find stability.

It would stretch from Canada to Mexico and from the Mississippi to the Pacific. Unfortunately, that is a huge footprint, but could have north/south or even east/west divisions. With WAC baseball and soccer, it would also offer enough team sports to avoid the loss of auto-bids when Ft Wayne leaves the Summit.

just spitballin' here, 'cause the other alternative seems to be for the Summit to bring in move-ups, since only UND seems to want to move to the Summit instead of out of it.

Talk of Gonzaga in the Big East has recently resurfaced.  The Big East probably needs 12 teams, and Gonzaga with St Louis, or Wichita St or Dayton have been mentioned,  While Gonzaga is far West, their profile has only risen with their championship appearance last year.  Gonzaga would offer a western region team for the BE, which would create national interest and also allow later games on FS1.

Seattle would be a natural replacement  as Gonzaga has been blocking their neighboring Jesuit school.

When WV and Rutgers left the Big East, the football contract value went way down.  Boise St and San Diego St, which would have had to pay the Big West routinely for membership, bought out their Big West and Big East fb only contracts and hightailed it back to the MWC

The MW could strengthen itself by re-adding BYU, but there’s a lot of BYU hate and no ones in a hurry on either side of that one.

I think they see themselves as more Pac-12 material.

So the Western Illinois head football coach bails to be not a coordinator and not the QB coach but the WR coach at ASU?

Better to be fourth mate at ASU than captain of that ship?

Let the conspiracy theories fly.

And they have no shot;  living in Indy land has been a slow death at BYU.

An extra $150,000 per year is nice.

I believe the big east pretty much collapsed, or was about to lose their BCS autobid.

And has his foot in the FBS door and a FBS school on his resume.

two ways of looking at it...he could do what a guy like jim tressel did and build something with yourself leading or take a shot at herm edwards actually doing something other than being condescending during his press conferences.
